"Waves" back - Hiya!
How long have you lived in Thrapston? What animals have you got?
I've been here in Rushden since 1988 having moved up from Mill Hill in North London. It was supposed to have been a stop gap, but I had to give up work a year later so I kinda got stuck However, I met my (2nd) husband here & married about 3 years ago - so it 'aint all bad
Only got a dog (surprise, surprise) & a couple of fish now - we will be closing the tank down when the last ones passes on, but it just seems to be getting bigger & bigger I used to have some rats & my daughter had a gerbil breeding programme when she was younger & we had rabbits till she got too busy with exams to clean them, so they were passed to a good home.
you seem to be really busy on h2!!! I'm afraid I haven't ventured very far this time around - catching up on (normal ) things at home, etc.
Speak soon

Hi - I just spotted this message, sorry
We moved here abour three years ago, following the work...!
Got two (mad) cats and some fish. Not the best combination but so far the terrible twins haven't made it into the tank!
We are also intending to change the tank when the last goes as Spouse wants to try tropical ones. I think he's got a long wait - we've plenty of cold water fish left yet!
It's a real surprise to find there are a few of us so local. I am a bit shy though, so dunno about a meet. Well, not shy really but I do like to keep the net and RL separate.
But keep in touch and you never know!

Hey that's
Yep, I can understand about keeping net & RL separate - I think really it was a kindof moment of sortof madness when I mentioned it!! I really don't think my husband would approve of me going out & meeting complete strangers
We're going to the farmer's market in HF tomorrow morning - buy some more cheese & things , maybe some ostrich burgers or sausages if 'the man's' there
I think we will probably go back to a cold water fish tank, but will get rid of this tank as it really is too big for us now. My daughter has a smaller tank that we may use instead. When I first started I had cold water, included fancy tailed goldfish in an assortment of colours - all had names . It is a pain when you have to wait for an animal to die, isn't it? Sounds so cold-hearted
, I thought all cats were mad

Still not been to the farmer's market but planning to one day. I never seem to be here on a Saturday, we often go visiting or have something on.
One of my cats thinks he's a dog - fetches sticks and everything.
Brother-in-law said just flush the fish away and start again whenever you like won't be doing that!
Have a good (if chilly) weekend

Managed to get to the Farmer's market - Ostrich man was there we got some burgers & sausages - the olive man was there, so we got some olives with almonds
My husband bought another jar of honey, but dropped the bag - he was too embarrassed to go back, so I did - the chap thought he'd eaten it already - I explained & bought another - aaah!
Sensible cat
No, no, no - you can't end their little lives like that - do you like your brother-in-law? You could just get a smaller tank & let them end their days naturally I suppose, if you're that eager to get some tropical.
Hmm it is a bit chilly - I've had some ops on my hand, back in June, but yesterday I was, literally, crying with pain - I only had some silly thin gloves & obviously the cold got through. So we went into the Bede House (next to St Mary's church) & had a hot cup of coffee - I used the cup as a warmer
Unfortunately, I find today that I've lost my venetian glass bead necklace - I reckon the thread must have broken, so all over the market square are probably little blue & brown beads If you go there & find any .......
Speak soon - better go & do something I suppose

That's a shame about the necklace
I am just having a sit-down after a weekend of visitors - will have a quick look at the paper but then have to do some work later on.
The weekends do flash by!

Did you see? Today - Sun! People outside without a coat! What a day!
How are you?
I'm shattered - been up since 5.30am as we have a child staying who keeps such hours.
Been over to Brixworth country park and also started to change part of the patio into a raised vegetable garden (well Spouse did most of the digging!). Been wanting to try growing veggies for ages. Very exciting. Making a list of those you should plant in March, ready to buy seeds etc.
Hope things are with you,

you make me feel like an indoor slug
Went to visit my mum who was taken into hospital last Tuesday evening (via ambulance) - a neighbour called them as mother couldn't breathe. She looks alot better today, but there other things which maybe aren't so good. Will be arranging a care package for when she leaves hospital.
Husband is away at the coast - a new fridge/freezer got delivered on Thursday & so he has been chopping out shelves in a little pantry to fit it in!! Wants me down there next to sort out where to put all the stuff that used to be on the shelves in the pantry
Daughter & g.daughter seem to be OK - apart from the usual "baby won't sleep" syndrome They should be coming here next weekend (maybe I'll experience a similar waking time ) - also my brother & family - it's just dawned on me - tomorrow I'd better clear up this place
Yes it was a lovely day, but all the good days seem to get taken up doing other things - I'm aching to get out into the garden to clear up the winter debris - ah well - I will eventually, probably in the autumn at the rate things are going at present
Sounds like all is well with you too - just be careful of your backs - all this activity after winter rest
Keep in touch
PS I had a great birthday treat from my daughter (& mum, nephew & husband had to pay for the food & drink) the other weekend - Fawsley Hall - I don't like to namedrop, but ..... - it was fantastic - had my first ever manicure & pedicure - wearing off now though - I have reached a milestone in my life - mumbles: i'm not saying any more

Not heard of Fawsley Hall - presume that's a health spa? Glad you had a good time
We were again woken at 5.30am today (6.30 with the clocks changing but still the same hours sleep as the night before)...I will probably have to have a nap this afternoon to catch up ready for the week ahead!
Going to continue in the garden first, I think it will be OK. Looking forward to sowing and watering. Must keep the birds and off though, will probably need some of that netting (as you can tell, I haven't done this kind of thing before!).
I hope you get your Mum sorted out and that she is doing better soon. I have been through sharing/arranging the care for a couple of relatives, although I wasn't the decision maker in either situation so am not that up on how things work.
Have a lovely Sunday.
Jules
