I've experienced my first swim-up bar

Having a lovely time, wish you were all here (but not on my bit of beach as I guess we all quite like the shady bits!).

Been on a sunset cruise on a ship used in the Pirates films, been on a coupla tours and mostly lazed about...

I may forget to come back.

And I thought the weather here had been quite nice today

On an alcohol-related note, a local brewery has brought out a Porter-"Imagine the marriage of a classic English porter, with its deep flavours of dark malts combined with the slightly bitter notes of ...medium bodied porter...strong nose with mocha- overtones." They use a Guatemalan bean & I certainly plan to try it. But it's a seasonal offering so I'd best strike while the iron is hot, as they say...I'm looking forward to it!

One of the things I like most about living in Texas (where we made a respectable 85F/29.4 this afternoon) is that I'm nowhere near as as I would be if I was still living in London.

But a swim-up bar in St Lucia is till pretty -making all the same

I'm quite mad, obviously, having only managed a week away without checking in to see what you lot are up to

Non-swimmers can wade to the bar seats, no problem mon

It's 31'C and 90% humidity.

And I am paying a fiver for a hour's connection, which I can dip in and out of until it's gone. So I figured it was worth it for a bit of news etc.

This afternoon is a cocktail mixing competition. You have to suggest three spirits plus mixers, taste them all and see who isn't dead at the end - I think they win a T shirt.

Sorry for being just a little excited about where I was: it was, as can be expected, a Big Deal for my little brain to compute after months of looking forward to I guess rum was also involved with my overseas postings...hoho (or yo ho ho)

Had a nice hour and a half sitting on an immobile plane on the runway last night as they fixed a bit which had started flapping off as the plane landed to collect us

Have flown forwards in time (always spooky to me) and more or less missed a night's sleep along the way.

But I have to make up for it all somehow, eh?

Excellent holiday and have now got the new central heating on full blast

We so needed the break though, what with the house stuff ongoing since last year, all in all.
