h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hi Westie

Just wanted to let you know, in case everyone on the word game is wondering ... my new (happycat) account has now been banned (I couldn't even post on h2g2 with it .. but oddly enough have been able to use my old Pandora account to be able to post a message to you here!)

I opened up another account last week, which quickly got closed too, so I'm pretty much giving up ... I'm really quite peeved and upset, to be honest, Westie .. I've been posting on the BBC messageboards for over 2 years now, and just because I happened to post a message saying I was a bit upset about how the earlybird thread worked (which I didn't think was particularly impolite .. I was just saying I was upset by the way I saw it working) ... then got jumped on by some pretty vociferous EB posters, got bombarded by curt emails from a certain poster off-board .. and purely because I felt I had to defend myself on the boards, was seen by the board hosts as a troublemaker .. so am now, to all intents and purposes, banned from ML. It has actually sickened me the way some of the people on ML have spoken to me, Westie .. and also the way in which one person in particular 'outed' me last week .. the way they did it was really quite unforgivable.

So really, just want to say goodbye ... perhaps I could continue to post the odd message to you here, just to see how things are with you? Have really enjoyed the banter we shared on that word game, and also very much appreciated the support you gave on the MH thread ... I've been through a pretty tough time this year (hopefully seein the light at the end of the tunnel now though!) .. so thanks for being there

I'll let ADB know by email, he mailed me when I was originally banned under my Pandora account because he had seen that I had had some trouble on the boards and wanted me to continue posting on the word game, but its just going to be impossible for me to open up any more accounts because they will be spotted and shut down immediately (as soon as I start say anything much, because it always becomes quite obvious who I am because of some of the things I make reference to, i.e. photography, etc, etc, and then certain people who know me well, but who are now being quite vindictive towards me, just report me to the mods straightaway, then my account gets closed.

So just to say, won't be around on the boards now, but would like to wish you all the very best Westie (and also extend those best wishes to your OH ... I almost feel I know him too!) ... and hope I may be able to exchange the occasional message with you on here.

Lovely to hear from you ..... I am so sorry it has got to the point where you have been banned again .... to be honest I don't often look at the early bird/bat threads so was unaware of anything going on there, and as you know, I go away for chunky amounts of time which means I miss out on a lot.

For myself I always found you a delightful and consistent poster and am truly sorry it has come to this.

I did notice that soon after you came back to the gamethread as happycat that you began to (quite understandably) make little comments which would rather give the game away (I had told you I would keep mum, which is what I did) and I expect that if you did that on other threads then the happycat would be out of the bag there too .... :0))

I hope you get help from lurking in the background and perhaps you will find a way to get back in due course. Would you be able to come back to the word game but keep it low key? Maybe you could write to the mods and just say you would restrict yourself to the mental health thread and the game thread?

We have an electrician pulling our house apart at the moment, so OH has gone off in the camper to avoid the upset it would cause him. Thank you so much for your care and concern, and take care of yourself wont you.

Yes, I probably made a mistake by dropping the odd hint to GLO, etc .. but I really didn't think anyone took all this so seriously! I didn't really drop hints on the other threads, but I find I can't restrict myself so much that it hides my indentity completely, so really makes it pointless posting!

Ahh well, nevermind! I think its probably best to give it a bit of a rest for a while anyway, I find it takes up far too much time and too much commitment (and especially when you get on owling terms with people .. they always reply so quickly .. then I feel I have to reply back again straightaway .. so I reckon you were quite right about not wanting to get into all that!) ... and I'm not sure that's doing my new relationship much good!

Hope all went well with the electrician .. can understand OH going off for a bit, I have a real 'thing' about people doing work in the house (and rang quite a few bells when Rosie was saying about how worried she was about having work done in her house too).
