It's a bit late, but your new flag doesn't look good to me!

Here is some simple code that should render correct in all browsers (tested in those three browsers + in IE6, 7 and 8 via http://ipinfo.info/netrenderer/ ).
The red colour is Pantone 186C. How that should be converted to a hex value is not to say, so here I've used a different colour in each of the corners. Big difference!
You might also want to make the white a bit darker like in Icy's code so it's different than the background in all the ugly skins. Or give it a frame...

Icy North's looked nice and flagging but - and I hadn't even thought of it as I droppped it in at w**k where we only have the "blue" browser - apparently wasn't cross-browser functional.
