One Bite, One Strike
---------------------------
Blackness all around,
moving without a sound,
slithering along the ground.
Tounge tasting the air,
It really isn't fair,
Hunted doesn't know where.
Fangs ready to strike,
Poison in the night,
Fire in veins alight,
Body drops to floor,
Dead before the fall,
The snake swallows all.

Requiem
---------
What an idea,
one of the best,
soon to be lost amongst the rest.
What a job,
so well done,
soon to be forgotten like the rest.
What a person,
unique amongst all,
soon to be given up like the rest.
What a way,
a beaten path,
stepping out of time like the rest.

well it was also a goodbye for now as well as I will rarely be online at the moment... but I thought one more poem would not hurt
All around are memories,
of laughters and tears,
of things forgotten,
and swallowing of fears.
All around I watch with awe,
wondering and wandering,
seeing places that stuck,
like so many thoughts.
All around are people I knew,
lost but not forgotten,
gone but not left,
still feeling for all.

I sit and wait.... I ponder
I should really look
'Ere for I wander
into life's little nooks
and crannies.... I ponder
What might I see as I wander?
A child crying in the garden
The boy next door revving his Honda
His mother begging her neighbours pardon
as the noise fades away... I ponder
I sit and wait .... I ponder
for that someone to take note
"Absense makes the heart grow fonder"
"Out of Sight" another wrote
aaahh well.. Still I sit, I wait, I ponder
Don't forget us Pete, love to Elaine..

Time to time
--------------
A tick of instant,
gone in the time,
it takes to think,
of even blinking.
A tock of the moment,
vanished past as,
the eyes start,
to slam shut,
Tick tock,
the eyes do close,
missing so much,
Tock tick,
background vision,
lost to eternity.

Good poem!
Just two 'professional' (i.e. Lit. student's) notes:
- You don't have to use commas to mark the end of a line, just use them as you normally would in a sentence. Otherwise, it kinda interrupts the flow of reading.
- This is of course totally up to you and your taste, but wouldn't 'the eyes close' be better than 'do close'? That 'do' seems a bit superfluous to me.
Of course, poetry being as personal a thing as it is, feel free to completely ignore these notes...
Just my .

Always a thank you for your comments lady P and if I choose to ignore them or not they are always taken on board... I am just glad to get some feedback...
Personally I did not like the poem myself and written in my usual I have five mins free lets see what I can write.... but it I wanted to write one and it asked to be written...
My 2 cents
------------
2 cents,
we all have them
we give it for free
a pennyworths of advice
is always helpful for me.
2 cents,
but never a pence or pound
it shows the birth of words
and influence around.
2 cents,
yet it costs nowt
to pass on ideas
a whisper or shout.
2 cents,
I give you for free
please keep this poem
to remember me.

Cute
-----
A word I heard to describe
a friend that I kept on the side
someone who I barely knew
but could describe them too.
I wish it was said of me
without it being sympathy
but I know without a doubt
I am not in with a shout.
Quick
------
Stringing a verse in record time
it can if I choose even rhyme
but no matter what I say
it just words at the end of the day.
How am I
----------
A long question and hard to say
how I feel in anyway
I have been up
and been very down
but whatever I cannot frown.
Here I sit a year on wiser
and I have become a miser
of my heart and feelings too
but now I change to myself be true
I am well with a smile.
