Thanks for the welcome.
And yes, five thousand years is a very long time to spend on any planet, especially one as dull as Earth.smiley - wah However, this thing you call the internet is very interesting to me, and this site you call H2G2 is the first sign of intelligence I have found on it.smiley - smiley

It has some interesting features, though admittedly I've only been stuck here for the last twenty years. smiley - biggrin

The internet is almost a world in its own. I don't think h2g2 can be classified all that intelligent. For example, h2g2 is generally 'shortened' to hootoo.

Well, be that as it may, at least this site provides a forum where an intelligent being can provide his or her insights to those less fortunate.

A few things I would change here:
1.Writing in guidehl(I think that is what it is called) is very intimidating to the novice. There has to be an easier way to import pictures and change the look and color of the text.smiley - wah

2.While I like that you emphasize real information on this site, I think that it would be more fun if you allowed so called 'silly' entries to have their own section. Life the Universe and Everthing may cover a lot of ground, but I would add another section (maybe called Milliways, or perhaps simply 42) that would allow humorous entries to be given the same priviledges as the serious ones. Believe me, after being stuck here for five thousand years I could use a good laugh. I realize I can search for these entries with the search engine provided, but it seems somewhat cumbersome and not as organized as the main part of the guide.smiley - laugh

3.I would like to be able to find out how many researchers there are and how many guide entries there are in the book. There should be a page that displays this kind of information.smiley - erm

These are not complaints. These are just things that I would like to see. I find it amazing that a site like this even exists and I'm glad I found it...smiley - ok

Just breif answersw, am off out for a bit so will give the proper links later. smiley - ok

1. Guide ML isn't all that hard to use. You can't use your own pictures, only those in the picture library. It looks confusing but there are ways of cheating. For example, you can change the skin you use to Brunel. Go to <./>preferences</.> and select brunel. Using this skin gives you a load of shortcuts for the Guide ML coding.

2. There are two main types of reviewed entries in the Guide. There's the Edited Guide (normally shortened to EG) which contains over 5000 factual entries. Then there's the Under Guide (or UG) which contains fiction, comedy and the such like. The UG hasn't been up and running for all that long ( a few months) so isn't all that big yet. Go to the <./>frontpage</.> and you'll see todays UG entries.

3. Such a page already exists but just to warn you it takes a while to load. <./>info</.>
