I have a windows box for games too, and spent far too long last night playing a new demo of Hitman. It's really hard, but I love creepy sneaky tactical games, so I'll probably get it. And have no social life until I've finished it!

smiley - biggrin I dual-boot Linux and Windows, works quite well for me. I can tell what I want to do by what OS I'm running - Windows for games; Linux for work and wasting time on the Internet.

I've been playing Neverwinter Nights far too much lately, and then of course there's the immensely fun Unreal Tournament 2003 - which has the definite advantage of running perfectly on my Linux system too. Does tend to get in the way of work... Hitman looks good too. So many games, so little time and money and disk space smiley - sadface

Unreal T works on Linix? I use FreeBSD with KDE desktop. I may try that out. I've heard it's good. Hitman is good, but I have to say is really hard! My boyf, who is a *genuine* smiley - geek, got a new graphics card yesterday for the windows box, for the sole purpose of playing games, and Hitman looks wonderful. Really clear and rounded. Have you ever played any of the Myst or Riven games? Cant remember what the third one is called.

The third Myst is called Myst 3: Exile.

UT2003 comes with Linux binaries on CD 3 of the retail version. The demo is available for Windows and Linux. I don't know how well it works on FreeBSD using binary emulation, but it won't be properly playable without decent 3D drivers - until just recently, you could only really play it using the nVidia binary drivers for Linux. ATi have just released decent Linux drivers though, so ATi owners can now play UT2003 under Linux. nVidia have got prerelease FreeBSD drivers around somewhere, so they might just make the difference...
