A busy day today - at work they've decided they want us to move office today, and last Thursday moved all our telephone lines without telling us. We can't move office today as it's the first day of Freshers' Week and Resit Results Day (Not that we can help with any student queries as we have no phones) and we don't have a key to the new office downstairs. And there are no boxes or crates to put our stuff in to move them downstairs either. So work is as well-thought through as always

The problem is that the decisions are made by those who never come into our office and have no idea what it is we actually do or need, and see no need to consult us over what will affect us, but they'll happily blame us if things go wrong

Yes, back online. Sadly, I am still waiting for my new PC desk, so am sitting at the dining table and that's not the most comfortable position

I hope that you get a desk soon - dining tables definitely aren't the most user-friendly places to use the computer. I've only done that when staying at the inlaws' house.

I'm not really sure what's going on with h2g2 at the moment, what with people leaving unexpectedly. You know what it's like - you get used to seeing familiar names and having familiar people around, and to find out that they've decided to leave suddenly is a bit of a shock. I guess it's one of those behind-the-scenes things which I'll never know the reasons for, but still feels like a rug's been pulled out from beneath my feet a little.

In other news, I've just noticed that 7 of the last 10 edited articles listed on the Front Page were written at least in part by me. Oh dear .

Yes - he does get so enthusiastic about things, and not always what you would expect him to. He's spent hours in the last few days playing with the set of cardboard stackable boxes that fit inside each other and can be put on top of each other to form a tower. Last week he spent lots of time writing the numbers 1 and 0 and letter J on a whiteboard, wiping the whiteboard, and then writing them on the whiteboard again. Yesterday he drew a picture of a page of paper covered in the letter 'A' over and over. It's great.

It's wonderful that he's so keen to learn!

When VV started school, she went and half the class went in on one day, and the following went the the next day.

VV's teacher said she was put of out a job, as VV meeted and greeted all the new intake and introduced them to their new playmates!
