(This bloke U3214422 needs a good ACEing, if nobody else has found him/her before your next appearance...)

Thought it might be, seeing it couldn't read instructions and so forth.
Speaking of which, I bought a camera today... The instruction book is daunting. I intend to work it all out over the weekend. And then, I'll start wandering around looking for things to photograph, so the blog might get more colourful.

That should keep you occupied for the rest of the summer
I visited Dad at the weekend, and he loaned me a book on Romsey, where his brother was a policeman for years. I just might do an Entry on it when I've finished the one I'm working on now..

There's a couple of photos on the blog, but beware, they're huge. I haven't investigated resizing yet. I have a lot to learn, and I intend to get on top of it this weekend.
Romsey. Here's a resource: http://home.iprimus.com.au/foo7/p.html Note the news item about water thieves.

Thanks for that Ivan.. I've bookmarked it for when I am ready to use it..
Have you thought about joining the h2g2 Photography Club. You could fill some of the Australian related articles with a blob, they are going through back issues

Time is an issue for me. I wouldn't be able to work to order, and I'd never be able to guarantee a timeframe. Also, I'd only be able to supply illustrations from a very small part of the country, and there's no guarantee things I can see around here would fit the entries.
Besides, I'm still not convinced that I did the right thing coming back here.
Today I intend to read the camera's user manual thingy. This might be very boring indeed.

Yes, there are a small number of people onsite who are a significant waste of space. I'll only divulge their identities if I have a clear reason to do so. In the meantime, I just hope I don't have to interact with them all that often.
While I've been offsite, hootoo has become even more UK-centric than it already was. Being neither British nor of British descent, I do feel marginalised at times on here. Being at this end of the world doesn't help, but that's nothing new in itself.
The main thing is - any scrap of belief that I once had in the Guide just isn't there anymore. So, why *am* I here? I write for a living, and I can't see myself writing entries on here in my time off. When I'm writing for pleasure, there's no way I'm going to be happy to submit output for review by anyone.

I think my new job has just made me more alert to who's likely to turn out to be a complete pain, before there's any direct evidence. It's sad when I'm proven right, but it does help with self-preservation.
In other news, I had a flash flood last night. After years of drought, suddenly half the topsoil on what used to be the lawn has been washed down the hill. I should do some restoration work but I'll leave it for a while in case there's another mini-monsoon. I think I must have had about two inches or more of rain in a single hour.

There are a few plants with debris wrapped around them, but none have been destroyed outright. I'm not tidying up today; there might be more rain coming.
I'm just relieved the garage wasn't affected. I have a friend's household effects stacked up in there while she's in Strasbourg. It was a horrible feeling, waiting for a chance to open the door and dash around to the garage to see if there was any flooding.

Oh Yes!! I remember you saying you were holding somethings in the garage for a friend. That was very fortunate

She sent me an email the other day, asking if we'd had any rain yet. She shouldn't have asked.
But anyway. While I wait for rain and contemplate filling sandbags, I should go and investigate lunch options. Mind you, I just had breakfast. Perhaps I should wait.

Oh, there's plenty of food in the house. It's just a matter of making a decision. So that's where it all falls down, naturally.

There's nothing wrong with silly moods. They're quite normal really.
But I should go and do things with food. I'll see you later...
