She has made friends and is self motivated about going to college. She assures me that she is keeping up with her work in her spare time, I am a little worried that she has seemed to have an awful lot of time catching up on 'Supernatural'. Making her way through box sets smiley - cdouble I have bitten my tongue. Mostly, just commented the once gently, I am a little worried that you might not be keeping up quite keeping with your work schedule. She assures me that she is.

I have been meaning to ask you about this. While I have been supportive and interested, Hiccup is now at college and is 17. I have taken a big step back in my involvement which was considerable while she was at school, to only being here should she actively ask for my help, which she has on occasion and as I have said being interested but not overly enquiring in the 20 questions sort of way smiley - winkeye

We discussed this so she knows that it is not that I just stopped caring

But I can't help feeling little wobbly about how hands off is too hands off?

So when she says that she is keeping up with her schedule I believe her, only my idea of keeping up may be quite different to hers, and also she is really not great in anticipating how much time it takes her do things.

On the one hand I think learn by experience but she has had quite a lot of experience of the timing thing and hasn't seemed to quite of twigged. So on other hand I think I should be still be given her prods like as at school

mmm long post, sorry, but I would really appreciate to know how you did that letting go thing as yours got to be young adults. Did you have to think about it or did it happen naturally?

I think you are a great parent so that is why I have been meaning to ask you smiley - hug

smiley - tea and smiley - cake
