h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Well, our inspection has finished (men and one woman, mostly in suits, but startlingly one man with an extravagant ponytail). We have danced to tunes, we have written reports, we have done the 'all hands on deck' thing - and they have gone away.
And what did they think of us? Well, the director has had feedback - not sure of what good things they are going to write - but they have unerringly identified one unsatisfactory element (out of 57 possibles)that they will report. We are duly chastised and motivated by the experience.
When I do any sort of support or challenge visit to a school, please, lord, help me to leave them more uplifted than the inspection has left us.
Mind you, the director bought some of us drinks on Friday, and that was unheard of. Every cloud ???

I had an audit pop up rather unexpectedly the other day. What fun!

Being a word guy, dealing with people who understand maths and budgets always makes me *very* nervous. But they tell me it went well...

I've never gone out and audited someone else before. The closest I've done was serving as a judge for the North Carolina Press Association's annual writing awards. And that was bloody awful in and of itself.

Thanks for the message - received on return from Israel - we went to an old friend's wedding - from cold rainy England to hot sunny Tel Aviv. Lovely.
Back to it tomorrow though - visiting our wonderful schools once more, with no sword of anything hanging over us. We await the report (it goes on for ever - we knew about 6 months ago about the inspection, then we wait another three for the report. Schools get 6 weeks at the moment - after next September it will be three days .
