Hi,
I don't understand! What is the "Edited Guide"? How do you get something into it? How do you reccomend others' entries?
Cheers

Hi James.
The Edited Guide is the part of h2g2 that has been through the 'Editorial Process'. This basically means that the entry was submitted to <./>Peer Review</.> and been recommended by a Scout for inclusion in the Edited Guide.
A paid h2g2 staffer agreed with the Scout's recommendation and the entry was then sent to a Subeditor who checks the entry for style, spelling and any errors. The entry is then sent back to another paid h2g2 staffer for final polishing and then it joins the queue for the front page.
To be able to recommend an entry you must be a Scout, though anyone can join in the fun of helping authors in Peer Review.
The best way to get an entry into the Edited Guide is to simply write an entry following the Writing Guidelines (A53209) and submitting it to Peer Review or the Writing Workshop first if you're not sure you've met the Guidelines.
I hope all that makes sense! If not, I can try to explain the dodgy bits.

Okay, cheers. But what exactly IS the edited guide? Is it published? Can it be accessed?

Ah. I see.
It's the part of the h2g2 web site that has been through the Editorial Process. Click on <./>Index</.> and select 'Edited Entries' and you'll find an index of all the stuff in the Edited Guide.
