Hi Jimi, I got given this to sub. I've tried to translate it into Brit, cos that's what I thought I had to do, though it's much better in the original language. Anyway do please take a look at A717518 and let me know if there are any problems before I hit that return button.

OK, so what is a hoarding?

If it is a large roadside advertising sign then we're OK. But I've never heard of this particular British expression.

I would also change Councillor back to lawmaker or legislator if only because we don't have Councillors in the US and as since it is a specific term for a person, we should probably use the American version there.

I would probably drop the link to Bloomsburg's site since it isn't an 'official' website, but is hosted by a third-party provider. Sites like this disappear rather quickly from the American web landscape.

I'd rather see the reference to Bloomsburg being the state's only town back in a footnote, but it doesn't bother me to have it in parentheses instead.

How are those for comments?

hoarding
noun Brit. a large board in a public place, used to display advertisements.

While these are a common feature of the American roadscape they are pretty rare in Britain as roadside attractions to passing motorists, and illegal here on Motorways (highways). You normally only see them in towns.

I was unhappy with Councillor and will change it back.

I'm big on footnotes myself, but was told to keep them mainly for references and witty asides as otherwise they tend to interrupt the flow. However this entry is not exactly overburdened with them so I'll reinstate Bloomsburg to a footnote and drop the link.
