Hi Leo - I've just added your "Abacus" picture to the July Hall of Fame - this puts you on 4 applied pics, to my knowledge. Are there any others I don't know about? (Applied outside of the Photographers Group)

Also, which of the photos in your album are meant for Akko? As it's your Entry, we can send the pic you prefer straight for application by the Eds.

Oh - forgot that lot of abaci (abacuses?). It wasn't really a blob and wasn't done through the photographer's group, so does it count? I much prefer the challenge of earning a photographer's badge through the voting system. smiley - biggrin

I figured the Akko pics would go through the group tubes too, whenever you decided to run it. But my personal favorite is port2. I can crop out or remove the datestamp in the corner.

Besides that, the only photo I can think of is the New Yorker magazine pics, which I wanted for the overview but wasn't applied. Not sure what happened with that - I suppose the blob would nudge out the uni badge on the entry. smiley - erm Not sure what the policy is on that.

Goodness - did anyone ever tell you that you're sweet?

Yes it counts, previous photograph suppliers (Jimi X and Titania) were awarded badges retrospectively. All Researcher-supplied photos are recorded at the Database at the Group, in A-number order, so it's important to keep/know all applications, (just in case you spot any not listed on my Halls of Fame).

We did start a scheme of fast-tracking but it fell flat, people just weren't bothered. If it's the author's own picture and is suitable for the Entry and unlikely to get other submissions - yours is geographically-specific - then it's suitable for emailing straight to Eds for application. This time, I only submitted Skankyrich's Birdwatching in The Gambia as a category because there were two suitable pics he had left in his album.

If you would like to crop Port2 to how you would like it to appear on the Akko Entry and make it 200x200 and email direct to me I will get that applied. Regarding the New Yorker magazine picture, one of our rules is "no advertising" which is plainly stupid considering your whole Uni project was about the magazine. I'll chase that up as well. The blob would not nudge out the Uni badge, blobs have been applied to almost the entire British Mammals project of Skankyrich's and also Bob's historical mound project, so you can discount that notion. There's a photo on A13915668 and of the Hagia Sophia A455230 supplied afterwards by Gnomon. Email me the New Yorker magazine pic as well and I'll see what the problem was.

Um, yes...but compliments are always welcome (even though I'm just doing my job, which I enjoy) so thanks for mentioning itsmiley - smooch

I remember that "no advertising" thing came up about an Emily Plum novels blob, and they said a whole mess of them might not be. smiley - huh Maybe I wasn't messy enough. Oh well.

I'll email you as soon as I remember. Thanks. smiley - biggrin
