Hi
Reading that list of comments, I find it fascinating how it polarises. It's a cool list!
On a different subject you said "A similar conversation has broken out elsewhere in which it was pointed out that sexual orientation, like practically everything else in the universe, was not a binary proposition, but something which existed on a continuum" and since that would be, in your own phrase, right up my proverbial alley, I wondered where it was?

I stole the list idea from Blues Shark, but I think he only keeps insults. I thought keeping the compliments and the insults would be more fun. I particularly liked the two "ourmanflint" comments, especially since they came within a couple of days.
I do seem to have a polarizing effect on people.
The homosexuality conversation I mentioned is in the Moral Majority thread which has meandered in every direction. As recently as 4 days ago the subject was homosexuality. I'm still trying to catch up on the backlog over the weekend, so I only just read that bit. They've moved on since then, but if you have anything interesting to say, go for it. That convo hasn't shown any reluctance to revisit previous topics.
It gets a little flamey in their from time to time, but otherwise is pretty interesting. The good convo on homosexuality begins on this page. Start with Edward's post at 2992: F135418?thread=524287&skip=2980&show=20

Thanks, Blathers. I'll have a wade, and see whether or not there is anything I feel the need to say which hasn't already been said.
I assume all is well with you and yours? I am on IM for the next couple of weeks if you want to catch up.
Cheers

I'd love to catch up, but IM isn't much of an option for me anymore. I don't have the time at home, and at work they've blocked IM ports at the firewall. I can still get through with Yahoo, because it uses dynamic ports, but that's it. If you want to get signed up on Yahoo, you can give me a buzz. Az and Marv know who I am on there.
The wife goes in for surgery in a few weeks, and we hope it has good results and she can get on with her life finally. The baby is freakishly large and physically developed for her age, and is a delight to all around her.

I think I am agirlcalledben on Y! Certainly worth a try.
Good news about the operation. That makes the fourth person I know who's having one / had one this summer so far.

Got it.
Make that five, then. My mother-in-law is getting surgery for herniated disks. Before she goes in she willed her 15 year-old to us. I wonder what I could trade her in for...

I don't think you are agirlcalledben on Y! I am connected, but you show up in Trillian under status "orphaned."

Well, both my parents are dead, but I wonder how it knows that?
I am at Z's this evening, so no Y!. I'll be around tomorrow and most of next week.
