All alone . . .
Posted Aug 2, 1999
Well, Craig (eminent flatmate) is gone - now somewhere between Vancouver and Anchorage, and possibly being digested by a bear. And that means that I now have the house to myself.
Hurray.
Not that he's not a great flatmate (don't get me wrong!) but I now have the opportunity to run up and down the hallway completely naked (if I so desire).
It's very liberating.

The trials of humidity.

What a bitch it is to have curly hair and have to venture out into the rain. I swear I heard a complete stranger mutter "frizzball" as I walked past today (or maybe I'm getting paranoid). Roll on summer, I say. Then (and only then) can I take this paper bag off my head.

Identity crisis

I've decided to change my name from the catchy "Researcher 46169" to Natski. It was a horse that came second in the Melbourne Cup about ten years ago. It got beaten by a much bigger horse, but in my eyes, it was a winner. And I think I won a couple of bucks on it too, because I've never been brave enough to bet just on a win. Not quite sure why I want to identify with this particular horse, or indeed any horse, but there you go.

Just another Tuesday . . .
Posted Jun 29, 1999
Spent half the morning attempting to sleep on my desk, which is not really ergonomically correct, but I was beyond caring.
The problem is sport, you see. And not because I'm playing too much of it. First we had that cricket world cup, and blow me down if Australia didn't win it. That meant a lot of sitting up well into the middle of the night to watch them do it. I thought I'd get some sleep once the bloody thing was over, but no, now it appears some Aussies are doing quite well at Wimbledon. Great. If only our athletes could do well in countries that are in the same time zone (but I suppose I'll have to wait for Sydney 2000 for that, and then no doubt I'll miss all the action because I'll be at work).
Life is so cruel.
