Just thought I'd drop round and say hello, hoping that you're keeping well. I've been lurking a lot recently and have made some half-hearted attempts at writing articles. How's NZ keeping? I keep on meaning to look into a long holiday abroad, and NZ definitely appeals.
I need some advice from an expert: I think my 4 year old daughter might be an asthmatic, as she has the odd blotch of eczema and seems to get breathless quickly when she runs. What are the signs? How does one recognise it in a kid that young? Any advice would be more than welcome.

FM, g'day there. Nice of you to visit my h2g2 space.... as always, we look forward to people visiting our (relatively) safe country.
I would advise getting a medical doctor to check your daughter out. Unbelievably, my asthma was not diagnosed until I was 49... after I had been admitted to hospital.

G'day to you too. It looks like NZ seems a good place to be at the moment. Not too many tall buildings to get in the way of aircraft, and hardly a nation with characteristics anathemic to even the most radical Islamist.
I'll take your advice. Sorry to hear baout your experiences. Basically, I'm not a great fan of doctors myself, as they've been fairly crap at diagnosing my own complaints (look on my Personal Space for the gory details). But hopefully they know asthma when they see it. How're ya doin' anyhow? It's been a while.
