Hovercraft Museum and Geek's Guide to Britain

Hi BB,
I never even knew there was a Hovercraft Museum until I read this article in The Register* today:
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/09/15/geeks_guide_hovercraft_museum/
The Hovershow sounds like fun, but we've missed it (it was at the weekend). Maybe next year.
Thought I'd share, as I'm sure it'll be of interest.

I've been by the hovercraft museum a fair few times, but never been in - it is very rarely open. They do have their annual open days, but I keep forgetting them each year. I'll have to try and remember for next year…
Last time I was there was a couple of months ago as Lee-on-Solent's parkrun course goes right by it. I know the future was in doubt when it was announced that HMS Daedalus was being sold off but it seems more secure now. Do you know the Hovercraft song by Lauri Say on his classic 'Songs for Singing Islanders' album?
O The Hovercraft is coming
Can't you hear that crazy humming
You can see the fishes scatter fore and aft
With its mighty engine pushing
Floating on its own air cushion
It's the Westland SRN 'Super Noiseless' Hovercraft

Sadly my mum chucked our copy when my parent's divorced as it was my dad's and he accidentally left it behind when he left.
Still a good album.

But sadly Mr Say died in 2010:

Curiously that obituary doesn't mention the key role Say played in organising the 1968, 1969 and 1970 Isle of Wight Festivals (not that the County Press at the time acknowledged the existence of the Isle of Wight Festivals).
