I haven't gone, but RL has become quite busy of late. (It's summertime, here, too. ) But I have to admit that if the <**see below and insert results> hadn't occured and the beep become involved, it would probably still be RL that was suffering my absence.
<**Which is the foop and which is the Rupert, or are they indeed both the same? Return whichever refers to the sudden and devestating disappearance of our beloved h2g2.>

I think they're the same. I've also heard it called The Long and Dark Tea-time of the Site, but then I may have just made that up .
So tell me, Nonnie. What is it in RL that is keeping you enthralled, spellbound, entangled and generally offline? Sit back, relax, have this thick-walled glass mug of sangria punch and tell me. What have you been up to?

O, hello Cafram. pleased to see you lurking.
nice to see you lurking here. I'd been having the feeling someone was watching us, 'Nonnie, now I know why..

thought I'd make my presence known
When the beeb first took over I thought "well, there goes the neighbourhood" (so to speak ), but it hasn't proven to be *majorly* different or nasty for me, although I'm not someone who has produced material that I have published here, so that aspect of it hasn't affected me...realistically, once you've posted something on the internet you lose some sort of ownership, imo, it is still yours, of course, but it can be stolen/altered etc so easily...
I dunno. Just putting in my 2 cents.

While this is true (about the ease of plagiarism with things published on the internet), if something means something special to you and you discover its existence elsewhere you at least have some recourse if you so choose. I really have little problem about final cut (edited versions) of things that _I_ submitted for approval to be included in the 'official' guide being granted co-copyright status (after all... once it's been edited it's not wholly my creation -- most of the time). With the advent of the "Peer Review" system, that has also changed, however, in that -any-one can submit an article for consideration, whether or not it was ever intended for such.
At any rate, hello you two. Mr. Prez, if you don't mind, I'll have a sip of that tea in between my putterings in the yard.

I haven't read the TOS for a very long time. It seems a few things have changed a bit, but I don't intend to read them now, as I'm in a fairly good mood and they are usually _so_ depressing.

And so a 9-year-old thread gets resurrected. Guess I've always been good at that. I can hear the reactions: "Oh gadz, Nonnie's back again."
