On Family Volunteering.. also known as volun-told

My Aunt called me today at around 12pm ish while I was in the middle of doing a load of laundry and asked me if i wanted to be in a fashion show. at around two pm. It wasn't a big deal, it was just for a bunch of old people. I had heard about them before and I am sure that in the darker more cave like recesses of my mind I had done one before when I was much younger. In any event, I said yes. I had woken up about half an hour earlier and wouldn't have anything to do until 3pm for my brother's soccer game and I was in certain mood that was..."don'[t say no to anything" besides it should be fun and I was told that I would model from about 2:30 to 3pm and then I could bugger off to my brother's game. smiley - cool

So, i go. My cousin comes for me and takes me to the place (it was actually her to-do). I had to bring my own clothes, which I was quite cool with. But when we go through the my clothes she kind of gives them a little bit of an eyebrow raise. Not a prolonged one, but that critical brief rise and drop that makes you wither.

So after we waited around for at least an hour, we do the modeling thing and then we get undressed. my cousin announces that she and the rest of the girls are going to get something to eat. I pipe up, "Um, I need to go to the sports center". I find out that the time is 4:12 and so i just say forget it.

Anyway, the moral of this story is that I have done my summer's worth of family volunteering. I am not going to blame anyone else becasue i DID say yes. And the fact that I missed my brother's game is NO ONES fault. So, when you get right down to it, this is more of me bitching about my day. But in true form of the notorious El Watso: don't regret anything.
