Sorry, Peiquey, I didn't read your Intro properly. I thought you were younger than that. Glad to meet you anyway. smiley - ok

How are you settling in at hootoo. Are you enjoying it? What sort of interests have you? Florida International University sounds interesting. Can you tell me about that? What are you studying, for instance?

If you have any questions about me, I'd be glad to try to answer them.

Well school is great I have the honour of studying what is known officially as "undecided" basically all the basic prerequisites for everything excepting math of course which I avoid like the plague. Miami is really beutiful but at the moment a bit too overcrowded with tourists but no worries they will all be gone in ... I think 4 days and three hours. I just had my first ever pseudo relationship which showed me just how young I really am, I figure when I get to the point where I look before I leap at least the majority of time I will have grown up until then I will just have to figure out what undecided majors take for their summer classes, oh also I am obsessive and a major slacker but I am trying to have a more positive outlook so what about you?.....

Sorry I forgot to put this in the last bit I think hootoo is great and ok nonsequiter I am interested in film, well watching movies in my bed but what sounds better really, and I am building a small dark grey castle out of popsickle sticks I'm not one for manual dexterity so nitting is out and I paint on occasion but usually it just frustrates me, my mother says this is because self conciousness is the antithesis of creativity I dont think she ever said that in response to my non painting but she did say something to that effect and she is an amazing artist, well basically it is as I said I am an undecided who has to grow up and decide and also relax well more specifically right now sleep because it is around 3 am so the time of my rambling is at it's end

Hey Peiquey I'm a bit older than you it says a lot about me on my PS, especially if you follow all the links - there are loads of links - but in addition I work for a local university part-time as basically a research assistant involved in course development. I'm very near the bottom of the food chain and get paid very little even though I do some tutoring and the occasional lecture - mainly in philosophy which is why I like the Alice In Wonderland books, hence my name, as Lewis Carroll was a lecturer at Oxford in Logic and Mathematics and his form of nonsense is largely inverted logic and logical jokes and logic is central to philosophy - but I like being part-time, there's less work and more time to use for myself and I have a slacker tendency to give me time to think and dream and your mother's absolutely dead right to say self-consciousbess gets in the way of the creative process I should know and it's one of the best things I've ever heard on this site. Nice knowing you. Anything else?

Me - I'm the one that's older than you. Tell me about your studies - why's it called an Interneational university?

I think they just put international between florida and university so abbreviated the school wouldn't be F.U., there might be a different reason but this is the only one I am aware of. I am actually trying to figure out what courses to take this summer now, and it's a bit scary because this semester I had an approaches to literature class that was amazing great professor lots of philosophy (a very me sort of course)and oceanography was amazing too, and it would be so dissapointing to go back to school and be bored all summer. I imagine I'll be able to sort that out though.

FU smiley - laugh - I like it! smiley - biggrin

Yes it's vitally important to do courses you like. University can be absolute pain and misery if you have to do something you hate. But do you work over the summer? Over here, apart from postgraduates - what you would call graduate students? the courses shut down from June/July to September/October for their long summer vacation. We have three short terms whereas I guess you have two long semesters?

summer a 05/08/2006 - 06/22/2006
summer b 06/28/2006 - 08/12/2006
summer c 05/08/2006 - 08/12/2006
It makes scheduling very strange. I should probably get a job... hmmm
skills slacking off
watching television
I am at least semi-literate
panicking for no reason
also I am extremely dissorganized and chronicly late
quite the resume
so what sort of job would you reccomend?

I meant working as in coursework. Sorry I didn't make myself clear. I'm not suggesting a job, nor am I suggesting you shouldn't get a job. The advantages of a job might be money and less boredom and more life experience: the disadvantages might be boredom and less life experience if you're stuck in a factory or back office or something, and having to actually work: and you might not need the money.

It's none of my business to suggest to you one or the other.

surely it is your business to suggest something if I ask for your opinion or maybe it isn't I don't know either way sorry for rambling off topic you can suggest or refrain from suggesting as you like, right coursework, this week is final exams so that's pretty eventful much studying and slacking off I imagine hopefully with enough studying so I get decent markssmiley - smiley and then summer planning hurrah

It isn't any of my business unless you ask - you're right there. I sort of meant that I don't know enough about you or your circumstances to make a worthwhile suggestion. OK, here goes - on the basis of the info you gave me - librarian or classroon assistant, considering you'll be on a temporary basis. I realise that the schools may be out so the second won't apply.

Any idea what you have in mind for the summer?

Good luck with the exams smiley - ok

Hi Peiquey

Well Im glad we cleared all that up. So this summer, Im thinking school and who knows job as librarian maybesmiley - smiley, but definitely school. Human Bio Lab (core curriculum) and hopefully intro to theatre, which is not on the core curriculum but it sounds a great deal less boring than the things that are and besides at this point I can use all the credits I can get my hands on, apart from that I have to try to make a schedule that makes sense, maybe get one of my maths over with, and lots of my friends should be coming back to Miami from Israel in June so that should be really fun. So how about you? fun summer planned out?

Human bio lab? smiley - huh
Theatre?
Maths?

Are you doing an overall programme involving these or are you doing a general first year Foundation year (as we call it in this country)? It sounds quite a mixture. What on earth happens in the Human Bio lab?smiley - spacesmiley - laugh

Friends over from Israel? Sounds really nice. Do you come from Israel yourself or have you visited or have they recently gone out there? Whatever, have a good time smiley - ok

Me? I never plan anything smiley - biggrin

Basically I am trying to finish my core curriculum which sounds kind of like your general first foundation year thing. From whatI can tell, one of my friends who like many of them went to israel to study Jewish things for the year after high school took it last spring and it seemed like a lot of memorization of human anatomy, but I just helped her study for her final so actually I have no clue about the labs. What was I going on about? oh I am not from Israel I have been there three times though and I have a lot of family there. My entire high school class is there right now. As far as school goes I am just trying to get my core courses done, which may be a problem as I am also avoiding math like the plague, things like intro t theatre on the other hand actually interest me. I just have to figure my schedule,oh have I mentioned that before?smiley - smiley
I much admire your nonplanning approach it is how I intend to plan all that which is non signing up for summer classes related
