Cor - how did you do that, then?

I was just browsing through my list of submitted articles (looking for new feedback, dontcherknow) and it seemed juggling had disappeared... finally I tracked it down to the column on the left hand side of the page, where it appears to now reside in a much-updated form...

I like what you've written - you've added a lot of informative information which I neglected to mention - but the question remains... (maybe you've guessed from the subject of this discussion) - how did you do it?

On the subject of seven... can you juggle seven balls? I've never seen it done... but then I've never seen anyone do a serious juggling performance. I can do five balls fairly confidently, meself - but I'm held back in moving onto seven by the fact that I don't have seven identical, and small, juggling balls. Currently I'm working on the three ball cascade - in one hand smiley - smiley.

You oughta see the page "I can only do two" - the url is somewhere in one of the discussion on the current juggling page, and if you've ever juggled in front of a crowd you'll find it insanely funny...

Anyhow, I'll stop rambling now. smiley - smiley

Nothing to do with me! smiley - winkeye
Well, I guess is is kinda. I wrote some stuff about juggling ages ago and submitted it (and then forgot about most of it if the truth be known). I guess Guide entries are subject to revision by the hallowed editors if they find something else to add!).
If you can do five then you're already better than me! I can get them in the air, but catching them is slightly more of a problem! I have seen it done tho. One of the guys who comes to my local juggling club can do 7 (briefly, on a good day!) and we did have Mike Fergerson (maker of Fergie's!) down once on his way to the European convention and he was doing 7 without even thinking about it!
I really should practise more and learn some new stuff. I've been playing with the 3-ball snake just recently and I think I've almost got it down. I'm getting tempted to splash out on a unicycle too tho, so I might just start playing with that instead.

Recently, I've made a few attempts at juggling six balls... you'd think, what with the fact that I can juggle three balls in one hand, that it'd be quite easy... but you'd be wrong... actually, I reckon I could pick it up to some extent within a week, but currently my record stands at six throws... you know what I mean smiley - smiley.

Actually, I'm thinking about trying to get hold of some torches... of the type that you set on fire, that is. That *would* be fun... it would certainly liven up my (probably unlikely) upcoming performance in the college christmas show thingy... *careful consideration*, yup, I'm definitely going to have to get some torches. *evil laugh*

Torches are fun smiley - smiley
Make sure you use paraffin or something similar that isn't going to stick to your hands and burn and be sure to shake off any excess from the wicks before you start.
It's probably worth juggling them for the first time when it's still fairly light too. It gets difficult to see where the handles are after dark (especially with the nice bright firey thing wrecking your night-vision at the other end!) so you want to get the feel for them first. It's also worth making sure that everyone else is well out of the way!
Watch out for the metal guards below the wicks too, they get very hot and are much nastier than the actual flaming bit if you touch them.
They do look very cool for very little actual effort if you can do them tho, just swinging them about makes a wonderful wooshing noise!

Thanks for the advice smiley - smiley... I'll get onto Jed (my local juggling stuff supplier) as soon as my new busy college life slows down a bit *grins manically, if with an air of tiredness*.
