I have realized that I don't really have the luxury anymore of slipping--so that issue is settled...now I have to take care of the other things that have popped up during this....that will carry its own cost..

Yep,eating balanced meals on a regular schedule,excercising,sleeping needed hours..etc.

I need to get back to speaking regularly with my folks,I need to cut back on bad, very risky habits,and I need to make some real effort in finfing a career...pretty much says what needs to be said,

That is a very simple question,but a very terrifying one to me---I would like to be something of an professional academic,maybe a librarian..I have recently considered going into computing,maybe become a webmaster...but I have put the question on hold,maybe for too long...

Well computing is popular and you obviously know your way around a computer or you wouldn't on here or doing so well on your sports thing.
And working in a library would be great,imagine all those books and so little time to read them all
