Does anyone actually own the rights to the abbreviation h2g2... Only asking because of this...

You might be quite happy with the free publicity, but on the other hand, if the h2g2 abbreviation isn't protected in some way then what's to stop someone else deciding that five years down the line they want _us_ to stop using it?

Thanks Whisky

I'll forward you query to Robbie Stamp and Not Panicking Ltd. Business matters such as this are the remit of NPL rather than the volunteers.

I appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

There have been too many stories recently of lawsuits in the beer industry where one brewery, beer shop or homebrew store has sued another for copyright or trade mark infringement, to the point where a lot of us go smiley - rolleyes when another one surfaces, so I hope we've got that covered. It would be smiley - yikes and to lose the name.

On the other hand, it would be quite something for little old us to send big old Google a cease and desist order smiley - bigeyes

The fun could start if they actually release their media player tablet under this name and then six months later one of our guys writes an Android App to access the site...
