for voting for my little budgie story. I felt a bit rude, not answering your comment about the comparison with human conflict. Thought I'd answer you when the competition was finished and the result announced, so that I didn't cause confusion in the tense build-upsmiley - winkeye but maybe it's so obvious who the winner is that they're not going to announce it. Anyway, just in case they do mean to at some point, I thought I'd pop over and say thank you here. It was an almost true story. I can't remember it because I was a baby at the time, but Joey and Wally (my mum's budgies) couldn't be let out together because of their aggression towards each other. Just turn the lights out though, and the feathers stopped flying. It was supposed to be a surprise ending (as if! in such a short story) but the picture rather gave it away. Ah well.

You're right, of course. It would be a different world it we could stop people fighting just by switching the lights offsmiley - injured

Glad to hear from you! Do you have any idea when they'll declare a winner? Anyway good luck to you for the holidays and New Year!

Nice to meet yousmiley - smiley

Haven't a clue when or if they'll declare a winner. I guess nobody's holding their breath though. I make it Trillian's Child's "Preparations", with 6 votes. Excellent little tale with a genuine surprise ending. I liked them all, but that one got my vote too.

Looking forward to the Christmas/New Year holiday. Hope you have a good one as well!
