Book - not very recent but impressed me much: "The Samurai's garden" by Gail Tsukiyama.

Samurai's garden is a long time ago. Set in Japan, something about love, and about taking care of someone who's ill, I think.
But I mainly remember the atmosphere of the book, it radiates immense peace & quiet in some way. In our rushed society we sometimes forget to just take time for little things. Like taking half an hour to just watch a bird eat a worm or something like that. Or sit at the beach and stare at the sea for an hour...
Anyway, this is how it made me feel, and it made a deep impression. Read it and see for yourself!
