I am quite a happy camper in these first days of March. I have a progressing regimen of drug therapy that is seemingly going well,a solid relationship with good people here at Hootoo,my health...things are starting to slowly slide back into a workable pace. The hard work is ahead of me,but I will take the necessary time and make the effort needed to put my life aright....

What goes on down here...

My life in the inner city can be classified in many terms,none of which can truly be counted as being all-encompassing. There is the ever-present air of random cruelty and violence that can cling to you like a bad rash,coupled with a capricious sense of very black humor...I and others like myself swear over and over again..."I'm gonna straighten up and fly right.."-but easier said. I am one of countless persons down here that suffers from some form of emotional disorder,yet I must count myself as FORTUNATE because I am quite lucid most of the time,and not prone towards the many traps(illicit drugs,prostitution,robbery,etc)that exist in this queerest of microcosms...but I have grown too(?)content with my sojourn down on the Row...I hope that I can finally start to see what I need to. Then leave forever.
This time,this time,this time.

I have been slowly taking steps toward rejoining society as a "gainfully employed" person--I have agreed to rejoin counselling and also restart a theraputic regimen of psychiatric medication--I have enlisted with the Dept of Rehabilitation in an effort to gain vocational training--and I have secured at least a mimimal standard of living by applying and receiving social services. As for everything else...I am reasonably safe and in good health. I do not suffer from lack of food or water,and I have adequate hygieine facilities and supplies....I'm OK. The kindly folk here at H2G2 have really been supportive in terms of offering friendship to me. THANK YOU!!! I have been much less lonely over the past 3 weeks,and I hope to meet new pals on the site as often as possible...
