Well I have made it to 33!!!
So can anyone tell me this? I was born on Good Friday 1967 and when I was eleven my birthday was also on Good Friday. When I was 22 my birthday was also on Good Friday. Apparently this should have been the case, every eleven years my birthday should have been on a Good Friday but this year Good Friday is almost a month after my birthday. Why?

There's a really good song by an Australian band called 'The Cruel Sea' which describes this situation perfectly, although it is definitely not what the song is about. If you can find it, it is available on an album called 'The honeymoon is over' (slight portents there, I must chastely admit, although they weren't intended - honest!), and the name of the song is: 'Blame it on the moon'.
So how've you been otherwise, Ginge? How's that man of yours?

Also, I forgot to mention that this year is a leap year, whereas the other two were not. Could this not also have something to do with it?
*Cough! Cough! I think that was a bit of my brain on the carpet there...!*

The man is fine! He is currently sat next to me on the sofa drinking a vodka and ginger!
As for the not on good friday thing I think there must be more to it than that because there is 4 weeks difference not just one day. maybe we have come up with a new concept - the leap month! It would explain all those gaps in my memory (Obviously nothing to do with the vodka!)
How are you doing?

Obviously nothing to do with the vodka! You two are cast-iron drinking machines, are you not...?
I like the concept of the 'leap month', although the gaps in my memory are very rarely more than a night long. Maybe I'm just over-informed. Surprisingly, the concept of the ecclesiastical calendar is something you might have to write about - I'd do it myself only I don't have quite so comprehensive a motivation!
Otherwise, apart from tribulations with health, which has been giving me the comprehensive distends, I've been OK. I got so depressed about where my life has been lately that I actually wrote an article about it, or inspired by it, but I've asked as many people as I can honestly expect to read it to do so already, and you guys are busy, I know. Also, I want to have some body left to edit it who hasn't read it already...! I'll check back to you on the second draft.
Mmmm. Vodka and ginger...

You should really blame it on the moon!
Easter occurs the first full moon after the vernal equinox. This year the March full moon was only a day or two before the first day of spring, so you've got a really late Easter.
Not only do the dates have to line up for you, but you've also got to have the moon cycle working in your favo(u)r!
Oh, and happy belated birthday!

Cheers Jimi. That's the only explaination I have had in 33 years! I am v impressed. Was thye confetti for early wedding celebrations?
Hypo, sorry to hear things have been bad. I did go looking for said article and read your newest ones which I am most impressed with. BTW I am never too busy to read a good article!

Err, I didn't miss your birthday then?

Hmm, you missed my birthday but then so did all my RL friends () apart from Doug, of course. Do you usually have confetti for birthdays? I thought it was just for weddings.

*throws confetti again*
Happy belated birthday Ginger!!
In the US, we don't have any codified rules on confetti throwing. And any chance I can get to throw bits of paper and shiny stuff - I take it!
*throws some more for good measure*

My brother had his first, seventh and twelfth birthdays on Easter Day, but his eighteenth (which was also a Sunday) wasn't.
