Hi Ginger,

How are you doing? You must be getting quite close now?

I've bought some smiley - choc because you probably can't eat much nowadays, I know I couldn't nearer the date.

Have you had any interesting food cravings?

Take care! Say hi to Doug for me! smiley - smiley

Hi Peta. I am 2 weeks away but think it might come early. I have been getting an achy back and period like twinges for a couple of days now. Thanks for the chocolate - I will save it for after as it triggers morning sickness in me - what a bummer! I am very fed up of being sick after 38 weeks but who wouldn't be?
Doug says Hi. What are you up to nowadays?

Ooo, two weeks' to go! How exciting! smiley - wow Not long to go now. I do hope for you he comes early, it's such a drag waiting for those last few days to tick by, and *so* uncomfortable.

Hi To Doug! I'm running the BBC Community Team - working on all platforms, DNA, h2 messageboards and so on. The big project at the mo is working up to transferring the BBC messageboards over to DNA - not long now though. smiley - ok

Mark's gone off to work at the V&A now, he's really enjoying it. We're living in Clapham, although may be moving over towards the West of London soonish, because everyone at bbc.co.uk are being moved over to White City in the new year.

Anyway, back to babies! I wish you all the best with the delivery, do come back (or send Doug!) to tell us when the babe is born! smiley - star

Best Wishes - Peta smiley - smiley

Got a feeling it won't be mch longer as the braxton hicks are very strong today. Doug calls them branston hiccups btw - as if I get stomach cramps from eating too many cheese and pickle sandwiches! smiley - smiley

Hi Ginger,

Sounds as if it is getting *much* closer!

My second baby seemed to start coming and then stop, the Braxton Hicks/contractions would get really strong, and then tail off.

I was told that the best way to keep them going was to walk up and down continuously, the movement apparently encourages them. I tried it, and yeah, that day was the day the baby actually came, so it did seem to work for me.

I've been taking the raspberry leaf capsules but haven't resorted to the pineapple yet. We have just been for a short walk but that seemed to put the baby to sleep and the braxtons have only returned since I sat down again. Let's face it - they only come out when they want to unless you have them cut out!

So when are you thinking of moving?

I haven't heard of the pineapple ones - things have moved on since my day! - what do they do?

Yes, he'll come when he's good and ready. smiley - smiley

We're going to move just as soon as I've moved building, which looks likely to be sometime around Feb/March next year. The plan is to rent something over towards the west of London, and then once we're settled in the area to buy our own place, I'm really looking forward to it. smiley - smiley

Eating pineapple is supposed to bring on labour - of course I've been eating it and drinking the juice all the way through and have been fine so it is a load of old codswallop. As one midwife said, if these things really worked why would the NHS spend so much money on expensive drugs in order to induce you!

It will make life easier for you if you live closer to work. Travelling from one side of London to the other is not the easiest thing in the world!
