I only had that image in my portfolio to begin with, because I couldn't believe it was part of the stock art collection! Confession - I'm not really into S&M, but it was good fun while it lasted. I guess my little ode caters for the lighter side of 'closed doors' sexual pecadillos, whereas yours actually approaches the subject with some seriousnedd and even succeeds in making a point.

A chain - I sign on to get writing - find portfolio pages full of images - discover image bank in 'parallel' website h2g2 - laugh socks off at inclusion of dominatrix image - someone commends me on my taste - I respond by writing my little ditty.

Have to say, I think I like yours better, but I've been checking poetry comps & nobody rhymes anymore.

Yes, I have been looking at former winners of comps too. Been subbing some pf my poems. Looking at one site where they offer publication, inclusion in an anthology, you sub twelve to fifteen poems, a cv and a pic. If they choose you they ask for local newspaper addies and radio stns and send you publicity bumpf and promise an interview with media on a 'local poet' angle. They ask that you (if chosen) purchase twelve copies of book at around a fiver each. Don't know if I should do it or not.

I have not had any replies yet. I've sent both rhyming and free verse stuff off. Will look again at the site and ponder on what to do.
