just being a woman means it cant be a totally alien lifestyle anyway.

For her Mum. When you write then, you don't always "write what you know" factualy wise I mean. Do you just try to visualise the world from onside the head of your character and use empathy and draw on how you think you would feel in that situation by drawing on something you have seen?

Can you write from both mans and womans perspective?

Sorry if that made no sense whatsoever. I was typing with one hand whilst eating a Breakaway with the other and trying to squint at the screen in the sunlight!

Makes perfect sense. Think if i wrote only what i know i would be doing some fantastic stories about cooking dinner, housework, kids and worrying about money, not a lot else tho! Doesnt have to necessarily be something ive seen, i observe as we all do, dont you find it hard switching it off someimes tho, cant keep out of other peoples brains?
Yep can think like a man!

I find it extremely hard to switch off. I am a very empathic person. Read my poem A Nice Man. We had one hell of a weekend when a friends daughter told us something very upsetting.
