Hi Trevor, I didn't mangage to get on still closing down but now i'm not getting any warning but I think I know where the problem lies, too difficult to explain as I don't understand it myself but i've found some odd files in the new user section and I don't think they should be there but it's not letting me move them elsewhere. I did delete a couple that I knew were just games and it seems to be giving me more space/memory for some reason. Tomorrow will tell all though, it's been a pain all round the past couple of days.
Hope fully I will be here tomorrow but if i'm not them my pc will be in the hozzy!

Hi Trevor, I just got rid of the Sasser Worm, hopefully, I downloaded a programme called The Stinger from McAfee Securities and I think you would be advised to do the same, I ran Norton umpteen times and it didn't pick it up. It doesn't take all that long to do and its easy to follow. I had 88 files infected, and when I read the write up it showed pics of the little pop ups that I was getting, the close in one minute and also one showing it had reverted to the 'shell' I don't really understand this but I sure recognised the pictures.

hi sam, thnx for the advice but jamie does a regular sweep of all the files using norton and as i don't download anything its probably not infected us.glad you're back up and running.are back at work now.

Trevor you don't need to download anything to pick up the worm its sweeping through the whole world you just need to visit an infected area and you pick it up. I also do the live updates and Norton every week and it just didn't pick this one up. I now have my doubts about Norton as a few others have been saying to me. I will run Norton again after I go off line just to see what it says. Sole also had the Sasser Worm and he got rid of it in 15 mins. If you read the news its even in the banks. Having now done a few bits and pieces of typing, it certainly feels easier and I seem to be able to move around a lot quicker too. I'm sure To The Games has been infected because its not been working right for a while now and its a few weeks since my system started to get sluggish.

Thats ok Trevor, I had a bad nights sleep last night so an early night wont go amiss for me either. I just had a look at that programme again and it was only written today so that shows it took them quite some time to get to grips with the worm.
Well i'm back to work and it's like i've never been away, he still wants everything yesterday but I came back after a week and he hadn't even looked at the set of accounts that I worked so hard to do before I came off! he's a useless character and I had to work this afternoon instead of coming home for the repair man, he decided that the accounts should be finalised this afternoon.
So how is work with you these days?

usually this time of year we're kicking our heels waiting for the city housing dept. to get their act together as regards awarding contracts but things have moved more quickly and work is steady.i must try this year to re-organise the stores to make it easier for the stores staff to put the stock away and do the picking.
you must get really frustrated with your job after all the time and effort you put in

Oh I get frustrated all right but when it comes down to it I do like the job, to be truthful the job is easy it's dealing with him thats the hard part but he's the same with my workmate so it's not just me. We take turns at having a moan at each other lol, so usually we don't bring it home with us.
Well at least your not killing yourself as usual, hope it stays like that for a while, gives you a chance to cope with the hard days when they come.
Before I go to bed i'm going to have one game at Dicez and then i'm going to run the Stinger again just to see if thats where I picked it up, I also found another site where you play against others but its not as good as our one, no dicez, so i'm going to check that too, maybe not tonight though!
So when are we going to have our tournament?

Yes Thursday is fine with me, and you will have to give me some idea as to what you think I should forfeit should I lose, and are we playing one practice game as before? This, of course, is dependent on my pc still being in good working order.

nudgenudge Posted May 4, 2004
yes one practice game beforehand.the obvious forfeit is to release me from having to be nice to people but on top of that you should perhaps forfeit something else.let me have a think.pity you don't have a webcam i could think of loads.oops. the laptops gone up

Now remember this is a family site ok, I will agree to releasing you but I think you have to play another tournament for my forfeit, and I think you should decide what it is.

Maybe my forfeit could be coming over to your side? if I win you come to the nice side of the fence if you win Igo to the bad side? how does that grab you? that way we both have something to fight for.
