The Groob Posted Feb 4, 2004
He's done a lot of damage to the credibility of this site. Sometimes I'm left wondering who's genuine and who's fake.
One idea though:
To stop this sort of thing happening in the future, maybe the entry form could be made more comprehensive? I'm sure most sh*t-stirrers would be put off by a couple of pages of entry boxes. Just a thought. Also, this would make setting up multiple ID's more arduous.

I do not see this as over yet. I did not explain it, but A2261189 is a long list of threads I tried to keep up with over the weekend.
The earliest was 'Could anyone help me please?' (F19585?thread=367096) in which I must have been one of the first people to help Liam, if it is him. So, as others have said before, 'I'm new and have a problem with another user..' (F615?thread=375405) was especially odious.
I have just checked my e-mail, and no response yet about my posting that got yikesed, and me appealing the decision.
As the accounts have not been closed, we must wait and see if the warnings they have been sent will do the trick. As they are on-line now (according to last post), perhaps we should just watch what happens.

Spinks, I agree with that, I myself am suspicious of anyone finding there way to ask h2g without been directed there,
I have to go look and see if they have used guide ml. This would give me a clue as to whether or not it’s Liam or not, if this continues I fear aces will not bother welcoming new researchers in fear that it might be Liam, INTERN has resigned his badge over this problem, and how can blame him, will more aces follow interns footsteps?
Curing a Problem
The Groob Posted Feb 4, 2004
Just out of interest, did INTERN give specific reasons for resigning?
Curing a Problem
Just when I thought I had sorted it out in my own mind.....the Italics post on the 'Liam Saga' thread was from Jimster, not Jim. Hope it was only myself I confused there
zyrak, I'm not totally clear on what you mean. Ask h2g2 is linked off quite a lot of pages and I don't think it that difficult to find.
everyone for the tracking work.

From a thread i read it was to do with recent events, i cant say for sure it was a direct result but to me it seems to be, i will have to sort out the link to that thread and you can see if you come to the same conclusion that i did as to why he resigned his post, be back with link shortly...

Kea. Fair enough, only from my experience a s a new researcher I didn’t know how to get there until I had a very nice visit from my ace,
That aside I still feel suspicious of new researcher who ask for help and then suddenly they have a most wonderful p/s kitted out with guide ml.

*tangent*
A good way to find interesting stuff is to type a random word in conversation search (or general search) and see what it comes up with. There's usually one interesting thread from each page of searches. And it's usually totally unrelated to your search word.

Ask H2G2 is usually in the top five busiest conversations on the front page, if not the top. A natural place for a newbie to gravitate towards, to find out what's going on.

If there is id's to be found i WILL find them
I used to work for EGG an internet bank. I worked for the fraud dept for many months n went on a course on how to spot people creating several savings accounts. Just as people's handwritings are unique it's the same with internet writing. I didn't need to post proof for me to post that moonrising id i KNOW its him without a shadow of a doubt.
I'm willing to put my neck, trust i've earnt on here, respect n reputation on the line to say it's him.
He hasn't done anything wrong yet apart from saying he's now Sarah. He is persistant in becoming a GA tho as he asked again only hours after he first joined. His mother has proved it tho by saying he has an id called moonrising n YES zyrak is correct there is only one on the system n funnily enough it's created within hours of the others.
He cannot get away with anything on this site. Personally i love looking for new accounts it's a hobby of mine

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013 Posted Feb 4, 2004
Isn't this all getting a little hysterical? The italics are aware of our concerns over Liam - do we need to be jumping on each new account? Even if Liam does open a new account he may be wanting to turn over a new leaf - he is entitled to do so as he is not a banned researcher. Unless a new account/researcher starts behaving badly then I think we ought to let them get on with discovering how good h2g2 can be

Diddy! Posted Feb 4, 2004
Kelli i posted that new account so people can keep an eye on it NOT to report him. He has already created TWO clubs on there. I reckon when he thinks this has died down he will create a help group.
I won't be reporting this id but i WILL be keeping an eye on any activities for the benefit of the hootoo community. It's up to us to do something about it.
I didn't realise an ACE has already resigned cus of Lee til i came on this thread. I'm afraid thats one ace too many to have resigned. I will keep looking for new accounts n if anymore accounts are opened i WILL post them here.
Thank you

Apologies for going off topic but does anyone know the email address i can write to for h2g2, to tell them to take an entry i've seen on here off the system?
I can't go into details or put why i want it off as it's personal to me. Basically i've seen something written on here that was written by someone very close to me n someone has past it off as there own n they're deeply upset by it.
Many thanks

Bistroist Posted Feb 4, 2004
There is no mail address for that, not that I know of, anyway.
If you have a problem with an entry, it. Remember to write as thorough and inclusive an explanation as possible.
cheers

Geggs Posted Feb 4, 2004
Thinking about it, if they are using the same digibox (or what-have-you) to access h2g2, then I would think it's fairly impossible for Liam and Flicker to be on at the same time.
Or am I thinking too simply?

Diddy! I appreciate you keeping tabs on what is happening, and posting here. My sense is that the Italics will deal with it, but given the havoc that was caused I also think it useful that researchers keep an eye on things for a while too.

I think there are precedents for this. Yikesing would probably work. Or you could ask _one_ of the following what is the best way to go about this:
The Gurus.
The Editors - Natalie or Jim Sangster: <./>Team</.>
Or possibly <./>Feedback</.> (The Team or the Gurus will answer here).
Have a good read of those pages to find the right place to post. They are useful pages to know about anyway.
kea.
