The Weekend

It's been an interesting weekend, full of highs. I received a telephone call on Saturday morning from a friend saying did I want to come around as they were having a few friends over. I had to leave my husband behind as he was painting the front door jamb and had to leave the door open so that it could dry. So I went on my own and spent a delightful couple of hours catching up with a friend whom I hadn't seen for many years. From there I went on to visit my Mum who I'd not seen for about three weeks as they had been on holiday. It was lovely catching up on various things, the odd bit of gossip etc and having to wipe up her blood when she cut herself making strawberry icecream! smiley - ill She promises me that it didn't go into the icecream itself and even if it did, would i know it? - I thought it was strawberry juice at first!

From there I headed back home feeling that even with this most perfect day, the best part of it was walking in through that door and into the arms of my waiting husband. When I had left the flat that afternoon, chaos was reigning where clutter and rubbish had gathered after the madness of decorating, when I returned however, the decorating was finished, the living room was tidy and the washing up and kitchen was clean and I vowed that I will never let this man out of my reach for he is one in a million! He loves me unconditionally he rarely complains if I ask him to do something and best of all he thinks I'm the bees knees! What more could a girl ask for. smiley - lovesmiley - lovesmiley - love

Shes Gone

Shes Gone

To me she was a shining star,
A disco light,
Shining bright.
She lived her life
On the edge of a knife.
She was brash,
A little rash,
She could stir up a storm
But was also warm,
She was fun yet kind
The most loyal friend youd find.
I ll miss her so,
So sad she had to go!
Shame we didnt find
One more chance to say goodbye
She loved her dogs,
And pink party togs.
Capable,
Unbreakable,
Or so it seemed,
Is that why all this
Seems like a dream.
We called her Tori or Tor,
But not Victoria nor,
Vicky, the one she hated,
Ah but dear Tor was fated,
For different things it seems,
No more the pranks and schemes.
And life once more rests her head,
Says goodnight and retires to bed
And wakes to face another day,
with one more mischievous girl to play.

7.22

He's swept her off her feet again,
with just one look with one small smile,
through the corners of his eyes
he speaks without words.
With the slight upturning of his lips,
he beckons her gaze he fills her dreams
and in his gentle way
he lights her face with bold sunlight.
Every morning at 7.22 he fills an empty fantasy
with his familiar face
then leaves her again at 8.02
until the next time they meet
at 7.22.

(Any comments would be welcome. Maybe helpful suggestions especially on my grammar, which isn't the best, especially in poetry. Thank you.)

Bob Cratchetts Wifes profile

Hello Folks,

I'm known as Bob Cratchett's Wife on here, but the truth be known, I'm really Wulfrics wife. Wulfric is known a Bob Cratchett sometimes in the marital home!! I thought I'd log on in here and find out what he's been up to. Yes I'm the one who arrived on his door stop with "a strange mixture of paranormal/spiritual books and romantic girly-type literature" Well it's not that "girly" really. Wulfric & I got married last month so we're still in the glow of wedded bliss! And by the way, he is the one that always ends up buying the unnecessary expensive items in the supermarket not me! I say, "Get the small trolley, because if we get a big one we'll only fill it up!" But does he listen - No! He says, I got the big one because it was nearer! Well you can say it till you're blue in the face, but it doesn't always get through!!!

I take pleasure from many little occupations. I love tinkering about in the kitchen!! My strawberry smoothies are to die for - not to mention my Shepherds Pie, so my husband tells me. I like spoiling him a little bit, but in the heat of a hot summer the desire to spend a few hours in the kitchen wanes a little. I also enjoy a bit of writing now and again, though I'm sorely out of practice. I enjoy writing poetry and childrens fiction particularly. Maybe one day I'll sit down and write that one publishable book. Funny how that word doesn't look right but I can't quite think what it should be.
As "Barny Owl" for a group of Brownie Guides I quite appreciate being given the run around by 30 7-10 year olds. They came to our wedding with all their flags and uniforms and we had a Brownie Guard Of Honour - It was very cute!!

It little ode which I think is quite appropriate for me:

MY BUM

My bum is so large,
a little like a barge,
aeroplanes navigate around,
my arse so very large and round,
and though it is, to know you'd like,
it's not a place to park your bike!!

God bless all well rounded individuals out there!!
Long may you live in health and happiness, and always get the best men!! Coz we do in the end!! smiley - winkeye
