I can't participate, as I seriously have to talk to my advisor tomorrow. However, if some right wing nazi does come up to me with those idiotic pamphlets, I will kindly tell it that what everyone translates as "abomination" really means "Unclean under Jewish Old Testament law"- even stuff as dumb as menstruation was labelled that. And anyway, the passage that whole thing is in is in levitticus- a handbook for priests!

If they don't go away, I'll ask them if they work on the Sabbath, and offer to stone them so they'll be following the litteral interpretation of the Bible... smiley - evilgrin

Cat-Eyes: No..... why.... ?

On CNNN and I think also on the West Wing they were looking at Leviticus. It was funny.

They were talking about stuff like how in Leviticus it says you can't wear glasses, but we're allowed to ignore that one, but we're not allowed to ignore the bit about a man not sleeping with another man. The guy from CNNNN was talking to one of the priests at the front of the 'No Gays!' thing and was like "So, can you release a new bible telling me which bits we're going to believe and which bits we aren't cause I'm a bit confused..."

And I think the West Wing it had the president going "Now, I caught my Leo working on the sabbath and I have to put him to death. Do I have to do this myself or is it ok if I get the police in?"

Stupid people...

See thats the problem with living here, I hear about these things when it's too late. If Arisz was reading this now she'd still have time.

Jerms - a Brief flicker and then gone again.

I still don't know how to play it. I know that it can be a kind of drinking game, which usually ends up very noisy. But I don't think I've ever actually played it. Or, if I have, then I was already drunk before we started so I don't remember the rules. But I don't think so.

i've only ever played in a swimming pool.
someone is it and they call out 'marco' and everyone else playing calls out 'polo' and the person who is it has their eyes closed, so they have to find the people by their voices. so sort of like blind mans bluff i guess..... odd.......smiley - ermi like blind mans bluff.... maybe i'd like marco polo if it wasnt in a poolsmiley - erm

We got really bored and started playing that in year 9. Teachers gave us really weird looks when there are about 10 year 9s crammed into a tiny doorway or something.
