Me or Ivan? Have to say, creepy guys aren't my type, and I wouldn't feel right dating someone younger than me. you hear of girls marrying blokes 8 years their junior and it works, but for me to get together with someone that much younger than me, he'd still be in school. Would seem like child abuse or something.

Remember, youth and creepiness are in the eye of the beholder.
What is old for one person is old for another. What's creepy to one person is everyday practice for me.
Where's the back delete key?

Trust me - some of the blokes people have tried to set me up with in the past....... Not my kind of blokes, that's for sure.
And would you *really* want to be dating someone who was so much younger than you that when you were their age, they were still in primary school?

I'm not 40 either, not even close. But I'm still 7 years out of school. Anyone who's at school, or even just finished, would've been in primary when I was at secondary. Just screams child abuse.

I'm over 50 so the sums become more complex. Also my wife says I'm not allowed to go out with younger women.
But you need to know something mathematical about age. When you are 1 that year is your whole life. By age 2 the second year is already only half of your life. By 5 we are talking about a year being 20% of your life so by my age each year is less than 2% of my life.
Having said this a year's difference to a young person is a big(ish) proportion of their life while to me (and people older) the year's proportion of life is reducing and so is of lesser importance when making comparisons. Someone aged 55 compared with someone aged 60 is much less significant than someone aged 15 compared with someone aged 20.

I agree with Vestie. The older you are the less a few years seem to matter. Not that I'm that old... I just see it that way...
Speaking of relationships my brother was completely head over heels with a girl last month and they were going out... but now he's decided he "rushed into it too quickly" and he has to tell her he doesn't want to go out with her anymore. He's moping around the house and in a terrible mood. I'm sympathetic.... but all I have to say is at least he had a girlfriend. Poor kid. He'll sort it out. I'm just going to stay away from him for awhile.

My brother the trapeze artist!
He broke up with her and it was very traumatic for all involved, even me. I think she was devastated and very mad at him and my poor brother is so sensitive that he felt terrible which consequently meant much talking it over with him.
On the bright side we got pizza for dinner that night to cheer him up

It had cheese, tomato, green pepper, and pineapple. It's my favourite kind. I used to always have Hawiian but I was a vegetarian for awhile and this is the only thing that still remains.

"Still remains" - sounds like something non-vegetarians eat.

Or a 'still life' arrangement that's been left on the table long after the artist has finished the painting...

Green peppers and pineapple? Unusual combination without a load of other stuff too. Can't have a pizza without meat on it.
So I'm assuming you're not a veggie anymore then, Arisztid?

Arisztid Lugosi Posted Aug 27, 2008
No, not a veggie anymore. I couldnt do it properly because I'm a really picky eater so I wasnt eating right and then I got sick and decided it was silly. Besides which I'm anemic and the best way to boost your iron is to eat red meat.
I agree... now that you mention it still remains sounds all wrong..... It sounds disgusting somehow. For some reason I see an enormous rib cage, perhaps belonging to a cow, sitting on a large platter like the turkey when all the meat has been picked off it. Ick.
