Will you believe me if I tell you I was rear ended again today? I know it sounds crazy… or maybe like I’m jinxed
My Dad picked me up from school today and we were on our way home. I was just telling him about my day and we came to an intersection. We were turning right but were stopped to let the traffic go through. As we were stopped there someone hit us from behind!!!! Thank goodness I wasn’t driving this time! Still, it was a shock. It felt the same to me as the last time I was hit. This time though the damage was worse. Our back bumper is all scraped up and its cracked and popped out of place. The man that hit us was very sweet, and he was so grateful that we weren’t mad at him! I don’t know how anyone could be when he was so sorry. We all got out of the car and my Dad called the police We got not just one but two police cars with flashy lights Very exciting. One of them left though and the other one took forever to fill out his little form. I had to give them my divers licence but I’m not really sure why, I suppose just for the record. I wish the police were more chatty. It would make them seem less officious. Perhaps I’m just used to meeting them in an unofficial capacity and so they seem more officious when they’re not joking around.
We stood around outside waiting and it was freezing out!!! Lots of small talk and not much to do. I was rather ignored but I suppose that was understandable. I sent a text to Jerms but then my cell phone died. It was raining slightly, more misting really. I thought several times about returning to the car to read Sherlock Holmes (I’m reading it for one of my English Classes Is that great or what!?). I would have felt silly though, so I didn’t.
My Mum has booked a physiotherapist appointment for both me and my Dad. I don’t really want to go but I suppose its a good idea. I’ve never gone to a physiotherapist before so I feel rather nervous.
Makes me feel like hiding I was going to do my history reading for this week but now I don’t think I will. I’m just going to take it easy today

By the way...
I feel fine, but I my back has a bit of a twinge in it and my neck feels a little stiff. I’m sure its fine though, and I’ll feel better in the morning.

Yow, that's not fun! Glad you're not seriously hurt!

Me too!
And I have it on good authority that physiotherapists aren't that scary. So I shouldn't worry too much.
Enjoy taking it easy.

I admit I might be a /little/ skeptical.

Don't jinx me while you're at it thouigh. I've had too many bumps in the car.
Glad you're ok though.
So had it been fixed from the first bump? Or different car? Definately, take the bike/bus to school tomorrow.
BTW, I can't believe you get to do Sherlock Holmes in school!! We didn't have anything so fun. All our books were quite boring.

No, it was a different car. The other one looks quite fine and we decided not to have anything done to it.
The physiotherapist was a nightmare. I felt fine until I went to her, then after I felt like I'd been in a car accident! I had a crink in my back and my neck was quite sore!
I am very lucky. Usually we don't read much fun. But I guess if you do enough English courses at uni then you're bound to eventually get to do something fun. I think I may have just lucked out. Our teacher's main area of interest is illustrated Victorian serials.

Physios are like that. They give you lots of exercises and tell you that if it doesn't hurt, it's not working.
At least the car'll be ok anyway. Wasn't the same person who got you then?
Enjoying your reading then?

Arisztid Lugosi Posted Feb 15, 2008
No, it was a different person.
And yes, thank you I am enjoying my reading. Right now its not so good as in two of my classes we're reading two hopelessly tragic things. Fortunately I'm so far behind in my reading that I haven't read them yet. So now I'm forewarned and don't have to get attached to the characters.

Knowing they're the bad guy or going to die makes it easier?
Nasty Surprise (Part II)
Arisztid Lugosi Posted Feb 18, 2008
Well I don't know if any of them are really /bad/ but they do end tragically. Knowing that they're going to die makes it easier for me so I expect it and it doesn't come as a horrible shock.

No, not at all. I have a tendency to fling the book across the room and then run and jump on my bed and cry there.

Ah, I'm halfway through False Gods, the sequel to Horus Rising...and have been for about three months as I already know the basic story and know how it's going to end. Yet I've become emotionally invested in a character who I know is about to turn evil and will come to a nasty end and so I just can't face reading any further.

I don't know which is better. It's funny how even if you know what's going to happen you can still get attached. I had to read The Picture of Dorian Gray and even though I've read it before I still feel hopeful when he has his chances to change his ways.
