Just a swimming pool smell isn't too bad. I'm glad this one smells not too bad though.
I remember my family once had a rental car that smelled like stale cigarette smoke and other gross things. We had to go everywhere with all the windows rolled down and it still was smelly. Unfortunately it was also the coldest part of the year. Good thing we didn't have to have it for long!

My dad took his car in to get some stuff done a few months ago. When he got it back, they'd cleaned the carpets with something that smelled very strongly of marker pen. Had to drive the hour or so home with the sunroof open and the air con on to try and get rid of it. Luckily it disdappeared in a few days.

Few! That was lucky! That smell tends to give me a headache after too long. I wonder why they'd clean the carpets with something that smelled like that

I know! Think they'd got an oily stain on the carpets when working on it and had to use special stuff to take it off.

Oooh. That makes sense I suppose. Still that's unfortunate about the smell.

My dad has to get new brakes as soon as possible. He's doing at the same place as usual and they're giving him a car... I really really hope it isn't the same smelly one as before!!

You never know. Hopefully it'll be something nice and new though.

Well I certainly have my fingers crossed! But if it is the smelly one with any luck I won't have to go anywhere with him in it.

So did you get the smelly car? I got mine back on Monday!! Yey!!

It got new breaks over my reading break so I didnt have to travel anywhere with him. I didnt even realise it had been done until I asked my dad when and he said he'd done it already. I suppose I'll never know if it was the smelly car or not. But we get another rental car when they fix the damage to the back of the car.

Fingers crossed it's a nice smelling car. that was pretty quick to fix it though.

Its very odd but my dad still hasnt taken the car in to be fixed yet. I'm starting to wonder. The engine light is on so I really think he should do something about it.

really? I thought they were usually pretty quick to want the car to start work on it?

You know I thought so too. I'm really surprised. The car still hasn't been taken in. I must remember to ask my Dad about it. I wonder if he's forgotten.

Would've thought the insurance company would be pushing it to get it paid out.

I would have thought you would have to get it fixed right away so you couldn't claim some damage that had been done afterward or something.

We have a courtesy car. Its great! New and fancy looking. Best of all it doesn't smell stinky. My dad is getting it fixed at a different place this time. I'm sure glad!

At least you've a nice car to use. But still a bit odd. A lot of insurers only pay for a courtesy car for a certain lemgth of time.

We're only getting it for a few days. I think we're keeping it longer than normal because its the Easter long weekend.

Still annoyingly slow. Hope it'll be easily fixed.

I think so. Its taking longer than they expected because they needed two of something and they only ordered one. It turns out the tail pipe has to be replaced... and something else. As well as the bumper.

Always surprising what gets damaged. For my car, tey had to replace the radiator for the air con, and maybe the normal radiator too. Never thought it was that bad.
