Liked your peice about rugby. I went with a friend to a pub incentral London to watch it and had an absolutely fantastic time. By the end everyone apart from the Aussies were singing and dancing on the tables. Mind you some of us were worried we might expire from the mental anguish, the way the match went. I could hardly speak for two days afterwards. But oh was it worth it - to win it on Aussie soil; to finally put one over on the old enemy.

Glad you enjoyed it. Unfortunately I was at home, but if I tell you I watched it all over the house you will understand! The tension was so bad I had to keep getting up and had a tele switched on in each room!! Even my Glaswegian husband was murmuring encouraging words to England,( not that I can print them here) so it must have been an occasion! I bet it was great where you were the atmosphere must have been fantastic! A few 'bevvies' went down that day! What a shame the Aussies lost

glad you're still excited. I've got the whole thing on video - for many happy re-runs for many years.

I watched the semi at home and was driven to phone 5 live afterwards. John Inverdale advised me to go down the pub so i decided I simply had to watch the final in a pub. I heard today that there is to be a victory parade in London in an open topped bus.

I am very tempted to go.

Must admit I'm also tempted, the trouble is how much will we see? I guess the main thing will be the atmosphere which you can't get from the box! Depends when it is, if its during the week I should be working, not really one for taking a 'sickie' - got a conscience! <SMILEY TYPE="angel"/>I will have to buy the video of the game as in the heat of the moment I forgot to switch the tele on!<SMILEY TYPE="doh"/>
