Worn out old matresses...

...I recently discovered a handy and alltogether cheap(ish) way of improving your nights sleep if you can't afford a new mattress. The one I have is about 10 inch thick, but it is on a slatted bed frame. This has meant that it saggs quite annoyingly in the middle and has become bumpy and uncomfy. I priced a new one and needed a stiff drink when they quoted me £400. Okay it had springs within springs, but I thought that £400 was a bit excessive, and I only had £32.39 on me at the time. So, I considered perhaps buying a new bed and matress and saw one that had a springy base and thought I could buy it on a paying up scheme. I changed my mind quickly when I remembered my credit rating is such that if I try and get credit, a little machine spurts out an alarm in the form of sarcastic laughter, and the shop assistant calls secruity to have me followed. Rather disheartened, I decided to go and see how much the new Tomb Raider game was and spend my pennies on that. To get to the Games at my local Asda, I ended up walking past a lot of camping gear. It was at this moment, inspiration took hold and I saw an airbed. I reasoned that the main problem was that the slats afforded no real "springyness" for the mattress and perhaps if I half filled the airbed, it would act as a buffer between the matress and slats. I purchased this and a foot pump which came to £27 and bought a can of cat food and 10 Club for the change. On arrival home and after half an hour of cursing, the airbed was half inflated and on top oof the slats with the matress on top of that. It is like a new bed. I no longer wake up sore and grumpy. Well, I wake up grumpy, but thats more to do with not liking mornings much. Now the only thing is the noise of the airbed rubbing off the slats, which will be solved when I make a nice little mattress bag from some old blankets. So, the moral of this entry is that with a spark of genius, I saved myself £373 on a new matress.
As for the Tomb Raider game, I switched that with my switch card and am currently dropping Lara of Parisian buildings.

Louden Castle Review

Nice castle. Nice demonstration on Falconary. Okay rollercoaster. Food extortionate. Not enough stuff for kids (and adults) to do if they are there for a day. Things spread out to much. Absolute bugger getting a buggy down the rickity steps and pebble path to see the falconary demonstration. Place closes at five. All in all, I am afraid Strathclyde Country park beats it. Really nice ruined castle though...I mean, I wish I'd taken my camera. Look, I'm not being sarcastic, I would go back purely to take photos of the castle. (and to go on the rollercoaster again...)

Louden Castle

Well, its where I am going with the nephews and neices. I wanna go to petting farm and on the rollercoaster...there better be a rollercoaster... I guess there's a castle. It would be a bit silly calling a place Louden Castle if there wisnae a castle. Even the Elephant And Castle has got a castle. I think its on top of a building, and I'm not really sure if that counts...

Real life...

...Howdy do Journal. Been a couple of days eh? Well, thats what happens, stay up late to poke around the internet only to remember there's some cold hard cash to earn. Money is good. Money buys food and computer games. And pays bills. And keeps cats fed. And hygenic. It also supplies tv channels. And videos and DVD's. And coffee. And milk and suger to go in coffee. And books...lovely lovely books. And gets me into the pictures. And buys me art stuff to doodle with. Okay okay enough about how I spend my wages...wonder if I been paid yet....
