Now... i know you like Rock n Roll and all that stuff... But they were totally talentless. John Lydon wrote 1 decent song...

You have completely failed to fill the profile of any "Punk" stereotype...

well, considerin u used to class nofx as punk then u kinda missed the point urself...
the whole point behind these "punk" bands of the late 70s was to play god awful rock n roll... sioxie and the banshess, the damned, the sex pistols etc etc they couldnt play, that woz the whole point... it woz about playin guitar n NOT havin to be a guitar god, or bein a fantastic singer... it woz about playin even if noone wanted u too...
none of those other bands culd play... punk woz meerly a label put on them in order to contain them... the sex pistols regardless of how shit they sounded did sumthin, the started sumthin in music n in britian n in the teenagers of the time, fueled by vivinne westbooks line of clothing of course...

the sex pistols were not a manufactured band~ hang on, lets make sure we both hav the same definition of manufactured... i take it as a manager who goes out and finds the perfect group and moulds them to be what they want and that will make a LOT odf money n success?? is that correct??

the original line up went to malcolm and nagged him to be their manager, to which he said he wuld manage them if they got rid of their singer... they then auditioned some guys n found n stuck wiv Lydon, malcolm wanted the sex pistols 2 b the new bay city rollers... he didnt qute mould them the way he wanted did he?

ok, yes... they made it big for sayin "f**k" on live evening tv... but to be honest all males are like that in their teens n early 20s... whether they r neds or nethin else...

n ive never hated neds... if u rea thru my "i dislike" list u will see as well as philathropy, there is misanthrope... i do not hate anyone or nethin...

As far as im concered Lulah... The Sex Pistols were the band who epitomised what was wrong with Punk in the early days...
That whole Stereotypical "punk" look...
That whole "F**k society" attitude...
And the drugs thing too...

I wanted to be just like them...
But i was 16 at the time...

And look at the Sex Pistols now...
Still together...
DOing the same old songs...
No new ideas...


I think JOhn Lydon didnt realise that a mad hairstyle isnt a substitute for REAL ideas and opinions...

Punk to me is more than a culture...
Yeah, i know im sad... I know Punk is effectively dead...
But as sad as it may be, i believe we can make the world better....
We just need the masses.

Maybe something that was branded as just a culture can help the world out of ruin...

But the way i see Punk in te 70's is quite similar to how i see it now...
I am dissapointed at the way it has descended over the years...
Punk started off as this great movement which was supposed to change the way society thought about domestic, and international affairs, and attacked the way society was descending...
Then, like it has today, Punk is full of little wannabes who have no real ideas or opinions...
the Sex Pistols, in my opinion, were the early punk equivelent to Blink182...
They were just in it for the shock value...
Which i admit, was one aspect of the punk movement... But thats all the Sex Pistols done... They tried to shock people...

Punk today is even worse...
Its a mainstream, profitable market...
Bands like Blink182, Good Charlotte, and Avr*l L*v*ng* are considered punk... but have no real opinions... They just sound like a Stereotypical "skate punk" band...
Today...
BUSTED are even considered Punk rock...
