Hi Log, given research is your middle name, I would like some help from you or a nudge in the right direction on a matter of how to set out a Literature Review. I am a off campus social worker student, 1st year and have been asked to do such a review around a social work subject for my first subject Social Research. I have not been able to find a copy of a literature review, just to copy the format. We are left a bit on our own us off campus students and I have googled and set up a chat room for other students. The University website is very old fashion for the Social work students, and relies on thread forums, something I mentioned to the unit chair who is also the course co-ordinator, however she seems to prefer it that way. Some poor student has requested an explanation re how to set out a litrature review but her message has been sat there unanswered for about a month...not good enough but there you go. If you could please help me find a literature review that I can copy the layout from I would be very grateful. I have no problem with the content side of things (or very little) but it is the layout you understand Log, Yours in hope, thank-you in advance, Serinsmiley - smiley

Well since writing this to you log, I have found some really nifty sites on the matter through the search engine alloftheweb...sometimes much more helpful than Google don't you think?

Well if you could add anything would be grateful, but certainly feeling a bit bouyed up by my recent finds!

Cheers, Serinsmiley - dog

Never finishing school i never had these problems , but i would first find out what papers had gained top marks the previous couple of years.

A lot also would depend on the lenth of the paper needed, a synopsis for instance would help should the review be a long one , but
history-today-future
ending up with the writers own view of how things should progress
is always the best way to go about it,
And try to
excite the reader early on by use of examples that they will reconise,
like the positive advantages and negative of useing thread forums for
such reviews or mistakes that can happen by useing such forums.

Not forgeting cross culture methods of dealing with problems ,that is some societies seem to not need as much ,is it because A] B] C] ect can be another way of approaching it
Well thats my first impressions thoughts
