Thanks for your reply to my comments about redundancy, it's always nice when people get back to you. Most of the department have left already, and the ret of are just going to ride it out now - less than 2 weeks to go now 
There was a certain level of stress, some more than others. I suppose I was one of the lucky ones since I have no commitments, I felt more sorry for the others who have kids/partners/mortgages etc.
