This entry is supposed be about myself so i guess i'd better talk about myself.
I'm a headstrong person who will listen to other peoples point of views but hates other peoples views thrust upon me. This is why i am a die hard atheist. I have nothing against religious people unless they are all out "you must worship this person".
The next part of this entry was an essay wrote in Religious Education. It wasn't meant as a dig at Religion or Religious people. It was written so people understood me as a person and my beliefs. This essay i feel, sums me up pretty well.
The question to this essay was: In your opinion, does God exist? Give reasons for answer.
I believe that there is not a God. I am an atheist. The reason i don't believe in God is because there is so much famine in the world. I also don't believe in God because at the age of 12 i did a unit in R.E called "Looking for God". In this unit we looked at several peoples point of for why there was a God or not. After that we were allowed some time for "independant" research. And the evidence that i found told me that there wasn't a God.
I believe that pink elephants and purple monkeys exist. It seems to me that there is no need for religion as we can all bow down and worship the pink elephants and purple monkeys. However, i can see why people would disagree with my theory because they have never seen a pink elephant or a purple monkey. Funny thing is that i've never seen God, neither has anyone else.
Other people would say that elephants are grey and monkey's aren't purple. I would argue that there is no proof that there is not pink elephants or purple monkey's. The strongest reason i can find is that people believe in God but there is no absolute evidence. So is it wrong for me to base my beliefs on pink elephants and purple monkey's?
