Sham we gu back tah speakin Queens english??

Yes, I toured around Europe for just over three weeks. I met, Autumn (R), in Amsterdam. She got all squiffy on two wines, the lightweight. But, it was nice to see a GWer in person, we chatted like good ol' friends and passed the day away with ease.

I also went to Paris, Brussels, Berlin, Hamburg and Vienna. I saw Jim Morrison's grave!!

Was it that bad with the kids?? Is the peace welcomed so easily!

Writing anything??

Tom

Jim Morrison ooh I've gone all weak at the knees (arthritis?). Autumn looks real friendly, glad you had a good time. You wonder don't you when you speak to people whether they are how you imagine them. Or whether some big macho London geezer is really a blonde nurse from Cardiff.

Bad with the kids - I love 'em but I've been rewriting my childrens' book to a deadline. Agent wants me to tweak it some more. God. I don't know how people who write proper grown-up novels get on, it's bad enough with 40,000 words, let alone 100,000. So I have been like the Hulk all over the hols. Haven't had any time to write much else.

You writing anything or had any luck with the subs?

I'm skiving from work now, oh how naughty!

Meeting up was cool, but in all honesty, I knew what to expect when we met up. The great thing was how easy we started talking to each other as if we were old friends. And there was no chance of there being a london geezer because of the Childrens writing group, picture swop.

How long have you been with an agent, E?? Wow, sounds good to have gotten that far. Me? Nope, nothing, still learning the trade. I'm at the part where I'm trying to acheive coherency in the plot. The ability to convey the *message*. Very hard.

Ho ho

Busy eh? Put me down for three weeks supply of whatever you should be flogging, mind you, my card will bounce. It's great you got on so well, sometimes it seems like you've known someone forever when you meet them, there's a deep connection made. Yes I remember the piccies I was talking generally (even rambling lol) about not knowing exactly who we're speaking to sometimes.

I've been with this agent since December last year. I've rewritten this book twice and it looks like it's coming back again. I'm still learning myself. In my whole life I've subbed this book and three stories to Womags (rejected). And all that about coherency in the plot, I wouldn't know what it was if it fell on my head. I was hoping to do an MACW but don't have the cash. Even the postgrad diploma is £1000 and my daughter is in her second year at uni, my son is taking AS levels this year. I might as well sell my soul to the education department.

Are you going to register with the CFG chuck? Great to have you back but if you're too busy, no worries smiley - wah we'll grab some unsuspecting newbies and harrass them. smiley - laugh

I'm not not sure yet, I'm involved with the final drafts group now and I start uni (Another year!) in two weeks, so I'm not sure what it's going to be like. I'll lurk and if pos, I will join up.

Me... Needing to be flogged. Don't say those words too loud, the mad one might hear and take on her dominatrix persona. It's very scary for a wee hobbit like me.

What was your original degree in?? MA's are expensive, I'm trying to save for mine already! Anyway, you're only doing the wishes of *our* government and staying in education. They'll have us there until we retire if they can manage it!
