Hiya, friend of my youth,
I am once again on exam leave and wondering what to do with myself (revise? never...) I thought I'd look in and see how you were all doing, how the cats are, usw. I hope you're all flourishing, and getting your fair share of summer already. The weather here has been far too nice to do anything other than play badminton and eat ice lollies, making exams torture. It always seems to manage to cool down and cloud over as soon as i want to cycle anywhere though...oh well.
That's it really, just touching base and seeing how you are

What a nice surprise!
How have you been? How's Jem?
Most of the gang are still about, somewhere or other. Too much free time on our hands . In my case anyway, being currently unemployed and everything. Enjoying the nice weather, though. And not even June yet .

Hi Noggin
Too much free time, not enough guilt/conscience/energy to use it constructively; otherwise I'm ok. Jem was well when I last saw her, last friday (we don't do all the same subjects so I haven't seen much of her lately). Tis odd, coming back to hootoo feels like revisiting an old school, with everything the same but somehow unfamiliar. I'll soon find the dining room and loos again though, I hope.
see you around

hi Clare,
It was a lovely surprise to hear from you after so long and to hear that you are doing so well. I just found it odd that I didn't even get a chance to reply and say hello to you before someone else did.
Things here are rather stressful atm. Lua has cancer and I have decided not to operate. But she seems happy and comfortable and, so far, has no symptoms. So she could still be around for some time yet - I hope so.
Will you be travelling anywhere this summer? How about the boy - is he still in the picture?
hasta soon,
az

Hi, and thanks for the
Noggin *was* very quick off the mark - he must have been hanging forlornly round your page waitng for you to talk to him. Or something.
Oh dear, I am very sorry to hear about poor Lua. Still, if she seems happy that's the main thing, and probably better than making her go through the trauma of an operation. How old is she now? I hope she stays happy.
'The boy' - Ben - is still very much around; he and I did have a mad plan to get interrail tickets and travel round Europe as the spirit moved us this summer, but we couldn't really afford it and parents balked somewhat at the idea. Maybe next year. As it is we'll probaby just spend the time catching up on reading all the interesting books that have been laid aside in favour of...*shudder* Hard Times and other refined torture in preparation for exams. I'm teaching him German as well (as far as I can), so we'll probably spend some time on that.
How about you? Do you have any summer plans?
Derry (mi gato) asks to be remembered to all your and sends his feline condolences to Lua

Actually, a lazy pleasure-book-reading summer together sounds quite lovely. Well, you know that if you are ever euro-railing near Seville you will have to stop by for tapas and sangria.
I'll be stuck here again this summer w*rking as much as possible. But Blues Shark is coming back to Seville in July for his second holiday here, this time with his girlfriend, so I am really looking forward to seeing them. We are all planning to celebrate Lua's birthday together on July 10th.
She'll be fourteen, which is one of the reasons I decided not to operate. Plus by the time I noticed the tumour it was already quite big and I had no idea how long she'd had it and so nobody could guarantee that she didn't already have metastasis. Anyhow, she seems very happy. I'm spoiling her rotten and have even switched her from dry 'senior cat food' to tinned paté, which she is loving.
Well, off to bed soon. I don't know why but I am feeling very these days.
buenas noches,
azzzzzzz

Thanks Az, if we do ever get round to euro-railing we'd love to stop by.
Fourteen is a good age for a cat. My Derry is only six but still occasionally manages to look quite haggard and motheaten (when I rudely throw him of my bed, or out into the big wide world). Paté eh? mmmmmmmmmm (Homer simpson drooling noise). Oh wait -I'm vegetarian. Whoops.
Starting hootooing again in the middle of exams was *not* a wise move. Tis scarily addictive, and I have two horrible exams tomorrow - both English lit. papers one after the other . I like the books, just object to swallowing hte exam board's interpretaion of everthing, so I can regurgitate it in the exam. Oh well.
Anyway, I hope you slept well. I'd better go and do some eng before it's too late.

Have you checked out the photo gallery yet? F119314?thread=421977
You are very welcome to send in your photo, if you like.
Also, you can see some cat photos here:

I was thinking about something else I wanted to tell you about earlier today and now I can't remember it! Don't worry, it was nothing you can't live without, but it really bugs me when that happens.

Thaks for the photo links - it's really interesting to see what everyone (and every cat)looks like
I shall send a photo if I can find one that is both representative and presentable. I nice have one of me, Ben, my brother and sister and some cousins after having a glorious mud fight in the easter holidays, but I'm not sure that one is allowed outside the house.
I've just had my English Lit exams and - eurgh! At least they're over. My hand feels like it's about to drop off and I never, ever want to use the words, 'conversely,' 'however,' nonetheless' or 'on the other hand' again.
I know how annoying it is when you had somehtingto say and can't remember what. It'll probably come back to you at a really inconvenient moment. Or is that just me?

So are you still around? I imagine you are past all the exam stuff now and are happily enjoying your quiet holiday.
I'm doing okay. Another very HOT summer coming up and I'll have to somehow find enough work to get by on. But looking forward to a visitor in September which should be very nice.
Well, drop a line if you are on hootoo over the summer. If I don't hear from you I shall look forward to you telling me all about it later.
kissitos,

Oh, and Blues Shark and his girlfriend will be here on Saturday! I'm so looking forward to seeing Blues again and meeting SLG. We are planning to celebrate Lua's fourteenth birthday in style! I still can't believe she is still here, bless her. Back in February I thought Lua would never make it to her fourteenth birthday.
