Work Who Needs It
tanzen Posted Mar 23, 2004
I was mostly a lone wolf in school, to many degrees I still am...my closest friends for the longest time were my family...when I used to go out I used to go out alone...(19 year old girl going to a pub populated with guys in their 30s and 40s )...
...I will be friendly to people who are friendly to me...but I don't "make friends"...they tend to make me...so over hte years I have accumulated a few good friends and a few more acquiantences...
...my best mate is an absolute nutter, she's loud and friendly and talkative, so most weekends I just follow her around and speak if I'm spoken to...
...But I've never been able to get away with "conventional" on a long enough time span I revert back to myself, so the way I figure it is better to be right from the start, then everyone knows what they're in for

I tend for quiet rather than conventional most of the time. Rare for me to make a lasting friend through work (in fact I don't think it has ever happened).
Most of my friends I've known for a long time. I share different parts of my life with various of them. Since they're scattered around the UK thats not a problem. Ocasionally I've tried to mix different groups of my friends and it usually doesn't work.
Thats enough of that. I can get very introspective and gloomy if I'm not careful.

I no longer talk to anyone I went to high school with...all my mates are either from the pub or the girls I used to work with (it's a comfort to them to know there's someone out there er than they are )
When's your birthday?

i don't believe it (or in it)
I've never met a discription of Saggies that fitted more than half of me (or less than half since they are usually so vaguely written )
Ok come on birthday and sign then

Sorry, I was just sh*t stirring
One of my brothers is a Sagg, and he's good value...a bit of a drama queen, but good value
Me, December 31st...Capricorn...the most boring of all the signs (with the exception maybe of Libra )

Had New Years Eve/Day off but worked Xmas Eve/Xmas Day.
Managed to convince family to hold Xmas on Boxing Day so that worked out .

theres 2 nightshifts at our company
we've worked the last 3 Xmas Days, next 3 years the other team suffers
basicly if you're scheduled to work it only 1 person from the team is allowed to take it as holiday, but I don't mind as we get paid extra and get time off in lieu

I see your point...I don't suppose missing Christmas would matter so much to me anyway...someone ends up starting a fight with somebody else...

well I'd cook but I don't do roasts and my brother, father and brother-in-law refuse to eat pasta on Xmas Day

Well you know how there's always one of those people at every get together, who makes everyone else's life difficult by refusing to eat what the group is? You know, vegetarians??
Yeah, I'm one of those ! My mum or Dad can do a roast...I think the two oldest girls can too....so basically, everyone who has created life in my family can do a roast
