h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

This is just a bit of a rant, but I'm getting sick of all the people resetting their PS and leaving. It's getting rather depressing. Having Ivan go was a blow but there just seems to be a big drop-off all of a sudden.

Phew, i just had to glance down your friends list to check there weren't any more Us there!

It is blinkin' annoying, and it always seems to happen when you're not looking.

Conversations seem to have dropped off a little too. I can't seem to find a good thread that I can get my teeth into.

A number of stalwarts have loped of in high dudgeon following the recent profanity filter nonsense. It's not that they specifically wanted to shout 'pee pee' and 'willies' and 'panties'...more that they resented being lectured to and treated like potential troublemakers.

What *is* a site like this without its contributors.

Have you seen the 606 boards? Radio 2 boards? Sonme of those people needed to be filtered. Unfortunately we got caught in the net.

I wish they'd come back but I have found a bunch of people floating around that I hadn't met before and had some right good nights on here.

Me and Nog are still here, though we have 'minimalized' our PS's ...

Really, just feeling so let down by the place lately. I'd hate to give it up totally, which is why I haven't ... yet. But to be honest, I'm enjoying the blogs much more these days. More creative options, no censoring, quite fun.

I do stop by at wordpress, I just prefer the h2g2 format to blogs and never write anything. Plus I can never remember the addresses

There are too many different blogs (Worpress, Livejournal, Blogspot...) At least with HooToo everything's in one place.

I'm glad someone's with me, Roy. It'll end up just being me, you and 2legs refusing to abandon hootoo because we can't figure anything else out

There's still a fair bit going on. It's until very recently that I've started chatting to Tabitca & JohnnyK. Frightfully entertaining chats we have, too.

And SWL's a laugh when he's not stirring trub in The Forum.

We (and I include me) really must get with the program and learn about RSS feeds.

RSS feeds all sounds far too complimicated for little me. Dont those usually happen for news things? My brain aches

I'm as incompetent when it comes to computers as can be, and I find this RSS feed reader pretty user-friendly: http://www.bloglines.com/. I use it, and so far, so good. I'm updated any time a friend adds a posting, and some of the Blogs support feeds for new comments, as well!

And I would like to apologize for butting in so rudely: I found this while poking around on Edward's space and for some reason thought it was posted in "Ask".

I would never deliberately barge into a stranger's journal uninvited.
