Intro
Hi,
My nickname is Beaker, long story but associated to the muppets, & no I do not work in a laboratory or resemble a test tube, nor am I a Cork Head, but a particular haircut that went wrong was to blame. To assist I had sandy/red hair before it turned sandy/white.
I am British but live in Greece (north of Athens), also I work here. At the time of writing (Jan 03), I have been resident in Greece for just over 2 years. Hopefully this may extend to a further 4 to 5.
Cooking is a favorite pastime,although clearing up the mess isn't.
Living in Greece I have many opportunities to try dishes that short term visitors & tourists may not stumble across in most of the tavernas. Friends that I have made in Greece also provide me with recipes and meals, from their villages and families.
There is no receipe for their friendship, just a lot of warm and affectionate ingredients.
I have also lived in the Far East, Borneo, Asia and Middle East to name a few areas. During those years, the collection of recipes grew, some have been lost to memory or very grubby hands. Perhaps it is time to commit them to disk.
Bread making became a passion for quite a while, many local types from around the world. Bread Pudding also became another essential dish at the same period.
