Math - Playing Devil's Advocate

"Its the edge of the world in all the wester civilizations" Red hot chili peppers

Sorry had to get that out of my head its been there for at least an hour, just the one line going round and round. Anyway Hello I Math (now either you are very unusual, have read my space, or believe this to be a subject not a persons name, I wonder which smiley - smiley)

Its five to seven in the morning and I haven't slept yet, mind you I did finish work at two thirty in the morning so its not as bad as it might at first sound, but I am not at most rational. I am however in a cheerful happy bouncey fun mood (that would be the two glasses of alcoholic beverage I drank not long ago) and as ever I'm happy to makje new friends (most often I make them out of pure imagination, but all things considered, notably that you're looking for new friends too, I thought I could give this random new friend who is also a real person thing a try).

I fully admit here and now I'm not very good at this social thing, I'm not sure if it is just me or not, but who I am depends in part on who I am with. For example, with my grand parents I am a smart dress serious and very polite young man (who's wishing to be elsewhere, though that I try to hide), with the friends I live with I'm relaxed, sarcastic and lazy, whilst at work I'm confident, intellegent, and efficient (also wishing to be elsewhere). So I guess the natural responce to that would be who am I going to be with you, well umm I guess that will sort itself out, I'm aiming for honest, relaxed and cheerful, but we'll see what happens from the dynamics of conversation (should you wish to converse with me of course).

I'm also fairly new to this place, I arrived in err *checking* late november smiley - smiley You're welcome to read about me at my space or just ask questions (or not give a darn), both is an option too, as you choose smiley - winkeye

I guess thats enough of me talking in one go, and I'd better let you get a word or two in (half expecting to hear "go away" as those chosen words).

Math

ps one bit of random advice I was given fairly early on that I don't know if anyone has told you yet (I also thinks its quite useful to keep in mind), is that once you put sometyhing on here it can be hard to remove it, and all of it is public, thats not to say don't talk about yourself, but more to say keep in mind what you want you want to keep private and use alternative formats, email, chat things (I don't use them so I don't know the proper names, but I think aim would be an example), anyway I'm sure you get the idea smiley - smiley

Math (this time I really will finish smiley - tongueout)

So Math...
Yes, I am unusual.
Yes, I have been to your page.
Yes, I do believe math is a subject.
Yes, I also believe Math is a persons name...or name type thing.
No more wonder for you on that one...isnt wonder a grand deal?

You mentioned the many facets of Math, and who will you be when conversing with me?...
Would be nice to know all of them, maybe.
I guess thats kind of a premature comment, but oh well.

Thanks for the advice.
I will be careful.
Well, I will try my best, without being too paranoid.

Have you ever been to the East Coast?
Hmmmm...does East Coast really deserve capital letters?
Anyway,
time for coffee number 2 I guess.
Hope to hear from you again.
Au revoir...heh heh

Math - Playing Devil's Advocate

I've been to the east coast of england, does that count ? I've lived in France, though don't remember much of that age 1 to 3, I recall eating a globe artichoke on a three legged wooden stool outside whilst waiting for my mum to visit, she was in uni at the time, I recall the lightly wooded hill at the back of the house, I remember stone walls, the yard and river where washing was done, the pan of boiling water that my hand landed in when I fell over, the weeks in hospital, my mum fainting when the bandage was changed while I watched.
I've been to Denmark for one christmas, I've been to the French alps for a holiday, but I have yet to make my way accros the pond, though I am hoping to make the journey at some point, though as yet there are no real plans in place my intention would be to get to Canada and track down a Moxy Fruvous gig, and a Great Big Sea gig, BNL and TMBG if I can too, but the first two are more important to me.
Have you ever made it over to the UK ?

"the I that I am is not the me that I know but the means by which the me is known" I can never remember where this is from other than to say a friend called dave once told me it, but I think it explains succinctly why I can't say who I will be, or who I am, only who I wish to be smiley - smiley I wish to be, am trying to cheerful and friendly. I wouldn't say wanting to know all of me is premature, just nigh on impossible (I don't know all of me well enough to put into words, either that or I lack the vocabulary to express me smiley - winkeye) Unless you want to meat my grand parents (I wish I could have avoided that fate) or come to work with me (which would be a little far to go for a very dull job, and also a fate I wish I could avoid smiley - winkeye), those sides are the likely to occur in other cicumstances. Regardless, how would you describe yourself ? (I don't mean a physical description, thats not you, thats what you look like a; vast world of difference.)

smiley - wow I keep reading that as coffee 21 which would be impressive smiley - winkeye I just relearnt why I don't accept cups of tea from one of my housemates, I had to smile while sipping a substance that had nothing in common with a pleasant cup of tea, other than being brown and liquid, I like a lightly flavoured sweet cup of tea, this was not. Anyway enough complaint I fled the room cup in hand and there is a sink up here to dispose of it. Normally I'm a coffee person too, but at times tea is a plesant change, though it has to be earl grey or dar jeeling.

Coffee #21, that is funny.
I looked back when you mentioned that, and smiled...with a little chuckle attached.
Imagine...
Yeah that would be impressive.
If I were to consume 20 cups of coffee I would not be here, typing.
Anyway...
I am getting to know my creative self.
I am earthy, love to laugh, and love life.
I enjoy dry humor...and play on words type stuff...puns and all.
I am kind of wide eyed with curiosity...I like that about me.
I have a guitar I dont know how to play.
I am addicted to doing this "..."
I am jaded when it comes to boys.
I call men "boys" because it is more fun to say than "men".
I have a french name.
I like my name.
I have an ear for music.
--Hey Music, Your ear just arrived, when can you come pick it up??--
I wonder why people say they have "an" ear for music? I mean I have 2 ears, and they both hear music...
I ramble on sometimes.
I will go now!
smiley - ok

On the subject of silly coffee, I reall one occasion back when I was a student when having no clean mugs I just used the coffee jar (instant not real coffee) to make my coffee, it was only half full, so I added some sugar (yeah I got a sweet tooth, well I have more than one tooth, bit like the ear thing smiley - winkeye) and hot water and ended up with a syrupy mixture that I drank as I had been up for more than 30 hours and had a lecture to attend, unfortunatly I still snored through it, except when I was hit by the person I was next to for being too loud smiley - blush. Though that sort of thing is expected in uni, at least I think it is, and I was by no means the only one to sleep in a lecture held at nine am on a monday, in the dark because the lecturer liked slide shows. I was studying a physics with astrophysics degree, I left after the first year partly because of debt, partly because I wasn't happy with the course. I had been persuaded to the course by a charismatic lecturer who had mislead (without lying) me about course content, and over emphasised the cosmology aspects of the course and under emphasised the astronomy aspects. If I were to take on a degree again I think it would be Pure Mathematics, I always liked probability so maybe that field, but thats not even a real hope, more a pipe dream (does the term pipe dream come from the hallucinagenics smoked in pipes ? hmm).

I think everyone likes humour, but whats humourus to one person isn't always funny to another, so some example of things I have found funny recently (I'll limit it to things that worked while typed smiley - winkeye).

Dyslexics have more fnu.

Clones are people, two.

Atheism is a non-prophet organization.

Hope they ammuse you too smiley - smiley
I'm very much a book person, I generally read two or three books a week (when other people watch TV I read a book), I read more fiction than anything else, mostly sci-fi and fantasy (well thats how bookshops catagorise them, I just think of them as good books with interesting stories) I rarly like horror and when I do its more often for the comical aspects than horrific ones, recently started reading thrillers too as I discovered how good tom clancey is and thought i should look a little more at the whole genre. What do you do with your spare time when not responding to foolish questions from foolish people on the web ?

I do the ".." thing too, I tend to use lines from songs more often than the written or spoken word, but thats because I have a poor memory, though songs can seem to get stuck in there. though of course right now I can't think of anything mut the song that is playing, which is meri mac, by great big sea.

I like rambling too smiley - smiley rambling walks that take you nowhere, rambling thoughts that chase thier own tales smiley - biggrin

Hey...
I enjoy playing pool, going for long walks to destinations unknown, thinking, laughing at myself, cooking/baking, writing.
I have a strong desire to be a "book person", but I never read a book through to the end.
Except one..."Go Ask Alice"...read it in one sitting.
I think books are so special, and are to be cherished.
I have a great imagination, but I cant seem to get "lost" in a book.
Perhaps Im reading (trying to anyway) the wrong books.

I liked your funnies.
What about if you're in an elevator...sneeze(or pretend)...ask someone in the elevator for a tissue, and when they give you one, you eat it?
HAAA! I love that.
Or if you're at a funeral...you jump up during the service and start singing that Macarena...and doing the dance too, of course.
Perhaps my funnies can be offensive to some, but not to all Im sure...so cool.
Well, Math...
TAG-YOURE IT!

Hopefully if I'm "it" then "it" in this case is a reasonably intellegnt person, well I guess not as its me smiley - winkeye I'm not sure that makes sense, regardless onwards smiley - smiley This is likely to be shorter than previous posts, as I feel a need for food and to get away from the computer for a bit, a book maybe. I like the funnies smiley - laugh but I freely admit I wouldn't be brave enough to try them out.

I've read many books in a single sitting, usually forggeting to sleep in the process, I'm not sure this is a good thing, but it just happens with very good books. What sort of books have you tried to read recently and what was the book you read in one go ? Tried anything else by whoever ?
Though I love books, I love them to death, so far always been thier death rather than mine, else I would be having more of a hard tiume writting this, I have books that have lost spines and covers and literally been read to death. Its not that I don't care for them but, how many books could survive repeated reading when they get steamed while I read in the bath ?

Sorry tummy rumbeling, need food smiley - smiley and iconographic representations just aren't filling smiley - choc and smiley - cake don't work nearly as well as the real things.

Hello again.
The only book I read right through was called "Go Ask Alice".
That is also the book I couldnt put down.
It was supposedly a real girl's diary about her adjusting and drug abuse.
Perhaps it was the diary format that made it pleasant to my eyes...or the story...who knows, not me.
I will say this...
Dr. Seuss, is without a doubt, my favorite author.
No kidding.
That man was a awesome!

I dont suppose you have any suggestions on how to get a male off your back.
How do you get him to understand that you are soooo done with him?

Anyway...
hope youre having a groovy-licious day.
Bye

Math - Playing Devil's Advocate

Hello again, sorry its been a few days, but it was my weekend (which is sunday to tuesday) and I took time out to do as close to nothing as I possibly could without being dead (well if I was dead my usual responce to "how are you ?" wouldn't be true, my usual responce being "not dead yet", also if I were dead this reply would have been much shorter, had it existed at all which I doubt). Anyway I'm in work, so I'll likely get distracted at moments while I write this, so I apologise for what might be a rather disjointed reply.

smiley - doh you mentioned the name of the book before, I have to admit to having never heard of it, but then reality rarely appeals to me smiley - winkeye and when it does it tends to be scientific texts that do. I'm also reasonably sure I haven't read any Dr Seuss (either I haven't read any or I can't remember having read them, and I'm not sure which is worse smiley - erm) but I will keep an eye out next time I'm buying books (I say keep an eye out as I buy my books second hand, its the only way I can afford my book addiction).

*has image of prying someone off his back with a crow bar*
Sadly (or happily I'm not sure, it would be nice to be able to offer advic, but would it be nice to have been through it ?) I have no experiance with asking people to go away, I would hope any reasonable person would do as asked, however I would also presume that most reasonable people wouldn't need to be told to go away. ok then working with those assumptions, you have asked this guy to leave you alone, and I would presume he has not. That being the case I would suggest logging attempts at contact, and if after a few days (or whatever time seems reasonable to you) make a complaint about harrasment to whoever seems relevent, if by phone the phone company else possibly law enforcment of some kind.

Darn work calls, have to close thise here for now..
Good luck smiley - smiley back as soon as I can get away with.
